The bugbear being combinations of materials with different properties.

cozzer - 18 Aug 2019 08:58:38 (#2 of 55)

Like being made of a bug and a bear.

Dubris - 18 Aug 2019 09:01:33 (#3 of 55)

It's hard to separate them.

pranzingfrogg - 18 Aug 2019 09:06:01 (#4 of 55)

Do bears dump non recyclable litter in the woods?

Dubris - 18 Aug 2019 09:08:45 (#5 of 55)

Depends what they've been eating. If they've been going through our dustbins then I imagine a good proportion of their waste won't be breaking down naturally for some time to come.

I see from the article sticky notes can't be recycled which gladdens me somewhat because now I have the perfect excuse to ban the use of sticky notes in the office.

pranzingfrogg - 18 Aug 2019 09:13:23 (#7 of 55)

I believe the same restrictions apply to used envelopes (yes, still get them). I avoid recycling them and reuse them for shopping lists and other notes.

I thought the immortal bit of most envelopes was the plastic window bit.

Dubris - 18 Aug 2019 09:31:01 (#9 of 55)

At least an envelope (apart from the see-through window) will rot, which a crisp packet won't.

It's frustrating because I'd be quite happy to buy products in single material products even if they didn't look quite as cool.

RosyLovelady - 18 Aug 2019 09:43:04 (#11 of 55)

Polystyrene packing material and bubble wrap.

darkhorse - 18 Aug 2019 09:52:14 (#12 of 55)

I had wondered about Pringle pots. Disappointed about receipts and post-its obviously.

Got 5/5 in the quiz, though.

Same here. Disappointed this wasn't mentioned.

What's needed is something like the old Carona bottles, which were worth money when you returned them.

I particularly liked the "Cream of Soda" one.

RosyLovelady - 18 Aug 2019 11:06:14 (#16 of 55)

Mm, that poisonous shade of green.

tasselhoff - 18 Aug 2019 11:21:38 (#17 of 55)

Mmm. Dandelion and Burdock.

tasselhoff - 18 Aug 2019 11:22:19 (#18 of 55)

My mum was dead posh and would mix the cream of soda with ice cream. It was lovely.

RosyLovelady - 18 Aug 2019 11:23:52 (#19 of 55)

We had that too, as a very rare treat.

Tenesmus - 18 Aug 2019 11:25:48 (#20 of 55)

Blimey, yes here too. Corona was delivered by the milk man.
