How many people have you spoken to today (verbally)?

As social distancing continues...

3 today.

A nurse who did a blood sample.

The child ( briefly)

2 people taking money in 2 filling stations ( one food, and then one fuel).

Another quiet day.

thatshallot - 31 Aug 2020 20:30:15 (#2 of 162)

Why doesn't that add up to 4? Does the nurse have a second job?

Dubris - 31 Aug 2020 20:31:07 (#3 of 162)

I couldn't count them. I've been visting my mother for the weekend and we went for a walk this morning. This involved exchanging pleasantries with any number of other people, saying thank you when they let Mum go first along a narrow stretch of footpath etc. Then there were several different shop assistants but I wasn't keeping a tally.

JennyRad - 31 Aug 2020 20:33:02 (#4 of 162)

Oh, my day was very talkative. I've spoken to MrRad, the Tesco shop assistant who had to do a random scan of my self-scanned shopping, and the other Tesco shop assistant who had to push the "think over 25" button.

Of course, if cats count as people, which they do, I have also talked to both Minty and Monty.

solomongursky - 31 Aug 2020 20:34:05 (#5 of 162)

3 lovely Greek ladies, one in a shop, an old widow and a waitress.

fogsake - 31 Aug 2020 20:35:08 (#6 of 162)

Fogess on and off all day, ex fogess, daughter several times, her mum, gunsmith, tobacconist, sales assistant, costermonger, bloke on a tram, mate in a biergarten, politcally engaged youth, butcher.

Son later, probably.

bossab2 - 31 Aug 2020 20:35:43 (#7 of 162)

Yes correction 4.

I also told the Satnav it was stupid at one point.

FGBFGB - 31 Aug 2020 20:35:51 (#8 of 162)

MrsFGB and the Yummy Cottage delivery man.

breakfast - 31 Aug 2020 20:36:48 (#9 of 162)

Maths education these days isn't up to much.

thatshallot - 31 Aug 2020 20:37:06 (#10 of 162)

5 for me. Two in Morrison's to discuss why the till hadn't processed a 'buy two, get the lowest priced one free' offer. My wife and our two boys. An unusually chatty day.

bossab2 - 31 Aug 2020 20:39:18 (#11 of 162)

Its interesting that most of our interaction involves buying things.

JennyRad - 31 Aug 2020 20:40:35 (#12 of 162)

Well, it's a bank holiday. I assume that tomorrow's numbers will - even for those of us working from home - involve more colleagues, via Zoom/Teams/phone/whatever.

helbel - 31 Aug 2020 20:43:24 (#13 of 162)

Today I’ve spoken briefly to my neighbour (over the fence), but I’m counting my cat as a person too. So two.

FGBFGB - 31 Aug 2020 20:44:12 (#14 of 162)

Oh well, if cats, four.

uranrising - 31 Aug 2020 20:44:59 (#15 of 162)

2, a neighbour and a nurse.

mingmong - 31 Aug 2020 20:47:47 (#16 of 162)

Four, maybe five.

A normal day for me

flowbagging - 31 Aug 2020 20:56:31 (#17 of 162)
