Are you wise?

I stumbled upon this "test" for wisdom which I thought, at least, thought provocating.

93%

HorstVogel - 01 Oct 2020 12:07:08 (#2 of 44)

I couldn't be arsed to finished it. What's provoking about it? I fail to see where wisdom is tested.

saskia - 01 Oct 2020 12:07:58 (#3 of 44)

Very unwise.

Catspyjamas17 - 01 Oct 2020 12:08:15 (#4 of 44)

It looks more to be a test of political beliefs. I did all the test but there was no "results" button to click on.

Dayraven - 01 Oct 2020 12:09:00 (#5 of 44)

How does doing an online quiz not get you an automatic 0%?

Agaliarept - 01 Oct 2020 12:14:35 (#6 of 44)

84%.

Form a queue, I'll be launching the cult and sharing pearls of my wisdom at 3pm.

6to24characters - 01 Oct 2020 12:17:18 (#7 of 44)

Isn't this the sort of thing that Cambridge Analytica use to harvest data about people?

solomongursky - 01 Oct 2020 12:17:54 (#8 of 44)

I got Gender right.

NotNixerNoMore - 01 Oct 2020 12:18:07 (#9 of 44)

Nice little rant about obesity on the results page. And why does it ask if you are male or female?

tasselhoff - 01 Oct 2020 12:22:02 (#10 of 44)

What a daft set of questions. 76%

HorstVogel - 01 Oct 2020 12:29:00 (#11 of 44)

yours or someone elses?

HorstVogel - 01 Oct 2020 12:29:44 (#12 of 44)

What a daft set of questions. 76%

do you think the questions relate to wisdom?

tasselhoff - 01 Oct 2020 12:34:08 (#13 of 44)

Nope

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2020 12:36:51 (#14 of 44)

Looks like data harvesting to me

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2020 12:37:10 (#15 of 44)

Do you get told whether thinking 911 was an "inside job" counts as wise, or unwise?

dmlc133 - 01 Oct 2020 12:48:30 (#16 of 44)

As Socrates said, true wisdom is knowing you know nothing, but answering "indeterminate" to everything just got me a preachy lecture, so it makes me wonder who this person is to set themselves up as any kind of judge.

tasselhoff - 01 Oct 2020 12:50:09 (#17 of 44)

I mainly replied "indeterminate" too.

GyratingTrampoline - 01 Oct 2020 12:50:28 (#18 of 44)

I saw the thread title and thought to myself "wise enough not to open that thread" but of course without opening it there would be no way to share this nugget of wisdom so here I am

JennyRad - 01 Oct 2020 13:36:02 (#19 of 44)

Do you get told whether thinking 911 was an "inside job" counts as wise, or unwise?

You do not. Which is one of several reasons that I disagree with the quiz-setter about definitions of wisdom. (I don't necessarily disagree with their assessment that I am wiser than 49% of people; I'm happy to say I am at best averagely wise. I just disagree with them about how one measures it.)

HorstVogel - 01 Oct 2020 13:39:00 (#20 of 44)

Isn't wisdom about making right decisions rather than just knowing a lot of tit bits?

PS by the way "gas", was that petrol or LPG?
