So clever sciencey people: how feasible is this? Are we anywhere near it? Or is it bollocks and always will be?

Obviously i'm just talking about the science, not the politics. If the current situation has taught us anything, it's that nothing is off the table, politically.

Sounds like Total Recall.

More like Total Bollocks.

So, like Total Recall.

You'd need the same spatial surroundings though - wouldn't you? Unless you used some sort of multi-directional-treadmill to walk about. Sounds fucking awful.

Better than Tenerife.

There doesn't appear to be enough understanding of consciousness to upload it anywhere soon, if it would ever be possible. There may be finer interfaces and a more realistically immersive experience so that chats, for example, could take place in a bar with life-like avatars with faster processing. If somebody wants to spend a lot of time in a virtual bar or hotel, they still need food and have to urinate, shit, etc. in the meatspace.

With VR, you could technically do it now. If that’s what you wanted.

Would be a bit shit after a couple of hours though.

As others have said, you’d still need to eat, shit and move, or it would get pretty unpleasant.

You would not be able to unload your consciousness in the way you describe because electromagnetic radiation causes viruses.

We all know that now.

Oh, the horrors of 7G...
