Robots

Scientists have developed robots small enough to fit on the full stop at the end of this sentence.

They even have four 'legs' that can be made to move by toggling a laser back and fore. It would take less than a week to make a million of them. The idea is to inject them and set them to cancer cell seeking and destroying.

I must admit being injected with tens of thousands of robots doing what they are told makes me a tad wary.

The main other medical methods on offer are being injected with chemicals which do what they've been chosen for, being blasted with rays that do whatever they feel like, or your doctor deciding to slice you up with knives.

.....................Quite clearly they will destroy humanity and take over earth....................................

I always pronounce robot the way Zoidberg pronounces robot.

"Robut"

They're less scary that way.

My minute robot surgeons are even now working on making me even more gorgeous.

Impossible!

Macpaddy - 01 Oct 2020 22:44:47 (#6 of 24)

A lot of people have said the same thing. Flatterers.

Not a chance, they're going to need humans to look after their wellbeing and polish their egos bodies.

Robots will be controlled by corporations and will be operated by millennials and AIs! Where's the proper fear?

Macpaddy - 05 Oct 2020 15:47:06 (#9 of 24)

But what if they're controlled by Tory Central Office?

idaho_dwayne - 16 Nov 2020 11:07:16 (#10 of 24)

Robots are way cool.

meepmeep - 08 Dec 2020 18:36:09 (#11 of 24)

Oh god and what if the robots have ALGORITHMS

TheExcession - 08 Dec 2020 18:59:54 (#12 of 24)

"Robots will be controlled by corporations and will be operated by millennials and AIs! "

Oh god, not the millennials!

upgoer5goldrings - 08 Dec 2020 22:18:32 (#13 of 24)

Roko's Basilisk.

FGBFGB - 08 Dec 2020 23:48:30 (#14 of 24)

Magic Robot was fairly easily outwitted. And it was magic.

thisonehasalittlehat - 01 Jan 2021 20:29:07 (#15 of 24)

Oh well at least the AI is intelligent.

lammaMia - 01 Jan 2021 22:52:53 (#16 of 24)

Roko's Basilisk

If there are a lot of evil AIs that want to punish the creators of other AIs, things can get gnarlier than Israel-Palestine.

quartus - 02 Jan 2021 08:25:28 (#17 of 24)

I'd be more worried if it was miniature robots NOT doing what they're told.

Macpaddy - 02 Jan 2021 14:02:45 (#18 of 24)

That would be my concern. The idea itself is one that come to pass.

tasselhoff - 02 Jan 2021 14:10:41 (#19 of 24)

They could feasibly pass all the "doing what they're told" tests with flying colours, but some enterprising hacker learns to turn them into brain-eating zombiebots.

lammaMia - 02 Jan 2021 14:22:32 (#20 of 24)

It already happened. When Yahweh created Adam and Eve, he expected them to do what he told them. But the bloody Satan hacked into them via the apple.
