OK - I'll bite with a first (almost) proper post...

Did anybody catch the moment at the foot of the last climb on the final stage of the Giro del Trentino last Friday where gear problems forced a bike change on Wiggo?

In a toys out of the pram moment he dismounted and pushed the bike away from him in an obviously petulant manner.

However, the marvel that is the bicycle - being a self-steering machine - rather than tumbling to the ground in a mess of expensive carbon fibre just rolled towards the side of the road and parked itself faultlessly up against the rock face.

Brilliant!

nicely parked.

Does anyone know off the top of their heads where I can find details of a particular stage, not just starts and finishes?

kentigern - 23 Apr 2013 12:24:06 (#6 of 5818)

TdF, I mean.

On the Stages, click Details then Profile

Thanks.

(Doesn't give me those options, but I suspect that might be because I'm using a tablet rather than a PC, but now I know details are there, I'll check it out later. Thanks again.)

Steephill are great for info but might be too early for some details...

Yes, no details yet on the stage I'm particularly interested in. I'm just curious as I don't really think I'll be able to go due to a child in school, and a head teacher I doubt would be persuaded of the educational value. But I can dream...

Look at the info from Steephill for todays stage of ToT

Wow, incredible detail. Will check out that site again.

What could be more educational than a stage of the Tour de France? I say go for it.

Wiggins doesn't look all that churlish to me in that clip. Excellent parking. Mainly, though, we are all about goofy old Dan Martin atm. Sunday was so exciting.

BaronVonMarlon - 23 Apr 2013 12:58:22 (#14 of 5818)

Excellent parking by Wiggins. I was sat watching it while having brunch and I nearly spat coffee everywhere.

Electro - 23 Apr 2013 13:01:33 (#15 of 5818)

Everyone, including Wiggo, did a double-take when he threw the bike!

Where's the anti cycling thread?

Kentigern, are you thinking of the Mont St Michel ITT stage? We're going - I'm so excited.

kentigern - 24 Apr 2013 12:05:15 (#19 of 5818)

Either that, or the Saint Gildas to Saint Malo one. I think it will pass very close to our Breton neck of the woods. Perhaps as close as the end of the lane.

Avonlea - 24 Apr 2013 12:08:02 (#20 of 5818)

Ooh, fab.
