World Darts Championship 2016

For the (God rest you old son) Sid W trophy.

MVB to walk it? Wade to come good? Anderson to defend? Taylor to return?

Speculate and drink PINTS right here.

Peter 'Snakebite' Wright strolls into the second round.

The (joke) World Champion up next. Against a qualifier. Could well go wrong. Highly unpredictable gurning fool that he is.

I glad that the Darts season is upon us again.

Gary Andersons tartan sleeve annoy me.

Nearly an early bath for Michael Smith, there. Sneaks over the line in a tie-breaker.

Hi all

This snuck up on me, day 5 already and I haven't seen a thing. Did I hear that Simon Whitlock is out?

foxybrown - 21 Dec 2015 22:23:59 (#6 of 67)

And no pints for me

I'll have a Babysham

djsuggz - 21 Dec 2015 22:37:40 (#7 of 67)

Yup, weirdy Whitlock got dumped out a couple of days back, foxy.

foxybrown - 21 Dec 2015 23:04:20 (#8 of 67)

Thanks DjSuggz I've finished work now so I'm getting immersed from tomorrow.

One of my more favourite players, Stephen Bunting, has been eliminated by Barney.

A bit of a shame. It was supposed to be a good game. Wish I had seen it.

I like the fact that Wayne Mardle described Darts as a 'professional sport'. Superb stuff.

djsuggz - 28 Dec 2015 01:31:10 (#11 of 67)

Indeed. For a professional sport it is. Frankly I consider it lazy to consider it otherwise.

foxybrown - 28 Dec 2015 10:59:30 (#12 of 67)

I failed to watch any of this. Darts time starts tonight.

foxybrown - 28 Dec 2015 21:55:48 (#13 of 67)

Right I'm here. The other half is having a poker night next door so I'm in front of the tv. Not moving.

Unless I fall asleep

djsuggz - 28 Dec 2015 22:35:31 (#14 of 67)

Silly though he looks, at least to me, Peter Wright looked strong tonight.

TBH, I can't see beyond MVG for the title. When on form, as last night, he is unplayable.

foxybrown - 28 Dec 2015 22:45:13 (#15 of 67)

Haven't seen MVG in a while but he's accustomed to beating Taylor now I guess

Peter 'Snakebite' Wright - what a mess but it works for him I guess. What do you reckon to Gary Anderson's chances, Djsuggz?

djsuggz - 29 Dec 2015 01:39:14 (#16 of 67)

I think he'll prove to be a one-hit-wonder, as much as I was pleased for him last year. Only plays well when on the crest of a wave. Not a fighter. Tends to start goofing, missing doubles, and losing. Main betting (MVG aside) is for Taylor, Anderson, Lewis and Wade.

I'd like Wade to win. He's pleasingly odd, and Taylor now coaches him. But it seems unlikely. My bet on an 'outsider' would be Wright; Chisnall at a push, but I don't see it.

It'll be MVG, Taylor or Lewis. It takes a lot to win this.

foxybrown - 29 Dec 2015 11:18:17 (#17 of 67)

Wade is "The Machine"? I agree there's something odd about him but I also confuse him with Mark Webster (I think that's his name)

foxybrown - 29 Dec 2015 20:11:34 (#18 of 67)

MVG vs Barney tonight

djsuggz - 29 Dec 2015 21:23:13 (#19 of 67)

In pub just now. Will plead with my wife to let me watch it. MVG'll win, mind. Barney's day has passed.

foxybrown - 29 Dec 2015 21:33:24 (#20 of 67)

Pub and darts? You're skating on thin ice

I've been relegated upstairs
