Heh. How d'you like that then, evil Bond villain Putin?

thisonehasalittlehat - 05 Dec 2017 19:49:28 (#2 of 12)

Where the fuck is that place I can't spell?

I thought they were in brazil?

It's easy to lose track of time as you get older, hat.

Winter Olympics in Brazil?

Seems legit.

thisonehasalittlehat - 05 Dec 2017 19:53:57 (#5 of 12)

I know I still feel like I'm 25.

I'm amazed that Mutko has not yet suffered a nasty accident or early heart attack.

Perhaps he was 'Just following orders'.

Quite probably, in terms of running a state-sanctioned doping programme.

But I don't think he was meant to get caught out, and get Russia banned from global athletics, and from the Olympics.

Winter Olympics in Brazil?

ha, next you'll be telling me they're going to be in Beijing soon.

Looks as though Putin is not intending to block Russian athletes wishing to compete as neutrals:

The Americans seem to be getting cold feet about Pyeongchang:

getting cold feet about Pyeongchang

Maybe they are confusing it with Pyongyang, and Little Rocket Man.

Yersinia - 26 Jan 2018 13:10:32 (#12 of 12)

Hmmm.

It seems like a ban in name only.

Russia is to send 169 competitors as "Olympic athletes from Russia". That is not far short of their normal contingent.

But some of the competitors who have earned Russia their spots in competitions will be barred, and compatriots of lower stature will potentially take their place.

For example, ice dancer Bukin (bronze at the Europeans) and pairs skater Stolbova (silver at the Europeans) are among those barred.
