Rob Cross safely through but De Zwaan lost with a 106.09 average - second highest average to go out on ever.

Lisa Ashton starts well with two three figure checks but ultimately goes out 3-1.

This Russian darter is a bear wrestler apparently

Darn, I forgot all about the darts today. Will tune in tomorrow.

TRaney - 14 Dec 2018 21:45:45 (#4 of 9)

There’s a programme about Barney on here this weekend called Sadness of a World Champion. So that sounds fun.

TRaney - 14 Dec 2018 21:48:05 (#5 of 9)

Russian’s average is under 80

TRaney - 16 Dec 2018 22:16:17 (#6 of 9)

Spaniard unfazed so far by snakebite’s antics

TRaney - 16 Dec 2018 22:51:02 (#7 of 9)

And Alcinas beats him

TRaney - 01 Jan 2019 22:01:31 (#8 of 9)

Bit of a wobble from MvG there

LordofMisrule - 13 Jan 2019 23:56:29 (#9 of 9)

Meanwhile, in the BDO...

Glen Durrant defends his world championship: the first 3-in-a-row male BDO champion since Bristow. The world fails to care.

More interestingly, Japanese qualifier Mikuru Suzuki steamrollers top seed Lorraine Winstanley 3-0 - dropping just two legs and averaging over 90.

She's the first Asian winner of a darts world championship, and this may well represent a critical shift in both the standard of women's darts and in the power base of the women's game.
