Who would you like to meet, alive or dead?

For me it would be Jay Miner. Who was a Chip Designer. I believe he designed chips for the Atari games console from 'back in the day'. He also designed some (if not all) the 'Custom Chips' for the Commodore Amiga, which was a brilliant machine for it's time. Alas Jay Miner is no longer with us.

I'd like to meet the (historical) Jesus Christ. Just to see what all the fuss was about.

Other guests at my fantasy dinner party would be Rasputin, Marylin Monroe and Oscar Wilde

An interesting selection.

who knows how it would end up

Jacob_Richter - 11 Sep 2012 21:08:25 (#4 of 111)

Jesus and Wilde would 'get it on'. Rasputin would pursue Marilyn.

David Cameron. Dead.

I doubt if we'd have much to say to each other

This is the trouble. Quite a lot of the people I'd like to meet wouldn't have any interest in meeting me. Perhaps it's better to have a fantasy of observing them from across a room.

Elizabeth 1st, Arthur Ransome, JR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Carrie Fischer. Beverly Nicholls (sp?), and the Guardian journalist that I spoke to once who had the sexiest voice imaginable. He would be there to keep the conversation going, I crap at socializing.

I think it would be interesting to meet up with some of the ancestors, especially those from the 1750 to 1850 period, when on both sides of the family there was a definite change from rural to city living.

If they ever existed early religous figures like Moses or Abraham might be interesting, if only to argue the toss over their convictions, but I'd rather meet someone who led an incredibly productive life, like Leonardo da Vinci, assuming we could communicate satisfactorily.

popstar7 - 12 Sep 2012 00:48:36 (#16 of 111)

Seriously, you'd be arguing the toss with Moses about the most important commandment and he'd be doing the 'call me' gesture/mouthing thing over your shoulder at Marilyn Monroe.
