Gorgeous summer weather. MiL around to keep Mrs Ming and Minglet occupied for much of the time. 2 hours productive work in the morning, and a couple more in the early afternoon. Middle of the day took the Minglet to the skatepark, and witnessed his awesome progress on the ramps. Mid-afternoon, wandered up to the pub to meet the rest of the family. Enjoyed a cool pint while some old bloke belted out 70s choons in a not displeasing way. Walked back with the Minglet down through the winding and shady lanes of our beautiful village. Enjoyed a stonking evening meal of tender roast lamb, red wine and freshly shelled peas. Read an interesting article about North Britain in the 7th century.

No complaints whatsoever about today.

I did my tax return and renewed my working tax credit claim before the bastards snatch it away. Tax rebate will be in my bank account in due course.

Found a really lovely small ash tree which will be my bow soon. Got a good vibration about it.

I worked in the garden for five hours today and it occurs to me that a good day's work would kill me. The positive thing was the pub afterwards.

Made Piri piri chicken for tea for the first time and was a success.

Pretty drive, nice hotel, relaxing swim, bracing beach walk, enormous dinner. And now to huge, comfy bed.

Our daughters invited some of their Uni friends around and we cooked a dozen homemade pizzas in our pizza oven. All the friends and our daughters had great fun in the pool. Our dog was running up and down as they played some ball game. She was disappointed that we wouldn't let her jump in. My wife and I went in to give them more privacy. Their laughter made the day,

Poddled and watered in the garden. Small shy black cat is becoming more convinced that I am not Satan with every Dreamie s/he eats. Then into the car and up to Stratford to see (((Hugh Quarshie))) as Othello. Now at LushMum's, about to go to bed. A good day.

Best curry ever.

Lovely sunny day, pootled into town, small shop then Thai food from the food truck which was great, then to the new craft brewing company which has just opened up opposite and it is very good indeed. Slow wander home through the National Park. Gorgeous sunset with Venus and Jupiter getting closer every night.

Ooh, JtT has a bowyer! I still bear the scar from where my 1st and only (bought) ash self bow blew up on me at full (over) draw.

Anyway: a very, very long-lost friend popped up on FB.

Daughter and G'kids visited from Spain, they are growing so fast, they had fun on my sons phone translator, been rude in Spanish and then letting us translate it, we've had a smashing time with them, tinged with sadness they went home yesterday.

Not seen any news reports that include a quote from Farage.

Bah, by mentioning the tosser, you spoilt that run of good cheer, Herr.
