Mine is all 50's/60's stuff - lots of nylon and flannelette. My bedroom is mainly purple and green, but with some orange and pink thrown in.

I've tried to buy new old stock, but most of it is secondhand.

It looks fab, but I secretly enjoy a night in a hotel with high count cotton sheets.

helbel - 23 Nov 2015 14:25:07 (#2 of 143)

It must be ironed. That is all.

Pinkgum - 23 Nov 2015 14:25:47 (#3 of 143)

The joy of nylon is no ironing!

MaisonLazlique - 23 Nov 2015 14:28:13 (#4 of 143)

The what of what?

RosyLovelady - 23 Nov 2015 14:32:59 (#5 of 143)

It's worth having your bed linen professionally laundered if you can possibly afford it. That is all.

(I thought nylon sheets were banned for H&S reasons around 1970.)

Are friends electric?

Pinkgum - 23 Nov 2015 14:38:23 (#7 of 143)

Its alright, I never leave the belling bedwarmer plugged in unattended.

widenation - 23 Nov 2015 14:39:17 (#8 of 143)

Cotton bedlinen doesn't really need to ironed.

mazylou - 23 Nov 2015 14:44:17 (#9 of 143)

Ironed, very much so. Nylon, no thanks. Flannelette, excellent on the cold winter nights. Even 200 thread count feels good.

< Cotton bedlinen doesn't really need to ironed. >

Perhaps in theory, but it's much, much nicer if it is ironed.

wickeltisch - 23 Nov 2015 14:46:00 (#11 of 143)

Nylon bed linen?

<shudders>

Rosy is absolutely right.

I wash my bed linen but then take it to a laundry to have it professionally ironed.

MaisonLazlique - 23 Nov 2015 14:47:43 (#13 of 143)

On a trip to France once we got huge bales of real linen sheets from Emmaus. Sadly, I don't think they fit my bed.

Tomnoddy - 23 Nov 2015 14:47:54 (#14 of 143)

Nylon sheets, nylon PJs = *!*@*!!!

mazylou - 23 Nov 2015 14:48:12 (#15 of 143)

A friend of mine who has holiday cottages has one of these:

Life's too short for ironing.

widenation - 23 Nov 2015 14:51:20 (#17 of 143)

Too right.

wickeltisch - 23 Nov 2015 14:59:04 (#18 of 143)

That's why I rather pay others to do it.

Moominmamma12 - 23 Nov 2015 14:59:55 (#19 of 143)

It is lovely ironed. I must get the cleaner to do ours again.

MaisonLazlique - 23 Nov 2015 15:01:01 (#20 of 143)

Sorry, the children sacked her.
