I always have several on the go, which is possibly not very constructive. My list for tomorrow:

Recycling

Post office -coffee/baccy parcel

Hooks

Soil

Table

Paperwork

Sometimes things on the list are a bit cryptic and if its been a while since I wrote it I wont have a clue. (I also get this with shopping lists)

What is the origin of the playground rumour about Una Stubbs and the glass-topped table?

foghorn - 05 Jun 2016 23:27:27 (#12 of 206)

Hmmm. Ein bisschen schoko....

foghorn - 05 Jun 2016 23:28:30 (#13 of 206)

Kaviar und sekt...

Ebadlun - 05 Jun 2016 23:33:07 (#14 of 206)

OK, my first go:

- Reconstitute the entire post-war Social Democratic contract for the 21st century

- Reformulate popular music to combine a pre-disco conception of functional harmony with a modern rhythmic sensibility

- Make ISIS think really hard about what they're doing, and maybe make them a little bit ashamed

- Take that bloody pile of newspapers out for recycling

I think 1-3 are doable, but 4 is a bit of an effort.

Buy fencing material.

Fence veg plot off from spaniel.

Two, maybe even three pronged attack on slugs.

World peace.

Ebadlun, you remind me that my old GU userid, pestilent, was based on a similarly wide-reaching "to do" list, with the item

4. Conquer 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

4.a - pestilence.

Occasionally I manage to tick off things on a "to do" list, and it does feel quite an achievement.

More often, they sit there on the whiteboard, becoming a daily greater source of shame and anxiety as items remain resolutely unticked.

I made a big blackboard and list stuff on it as it occurs to me, or when mundane things like shaving foam starts to run out. Larger and louder colours for more important things such as kids birthdays coming up, with big arrows, illustrations and so on. I´m dippy, get interested in something and just forget everything else and it really has helped me get more organised and use my resources more economically and to better effect.

Ebadlun - 06 Jun 2016 00:07:16 (#18 of 206)

#16 - Brilliant!

You're doing a piss-poor job on war ATM, I have to say.

Yersinia - 06 Jun 2016 00:13:08 (#19 of 206)

Yeah, well, um, I never quite got finished on 4a, and then there was this thread I just wanted to check, and the tennis was on, so...

surferboogiewhatever - 06 Jun 2016 18:22:19 (#20 of 206)

I haven't really written one - I think I'll use this post as one:

Put meeting on Thursday on the calendar

Pester R about his accommodation situation

Think up a motor skills activity for tomorrow

Do loads of washing up
