I don't know what a gaz top is and wouldn't recognize a Hillman Avenger if one ran me over.

I do have a wok but it isn't rusty.

You don't know Gaz Top? How?

Shadrack22 - 11 Sep 2017 11:14:50 (#3 of 52)

Was he a 1980s figure?

TRaney - 11 Sep 2017 11:19:25 (#4 of 52)

He was a creation of the hair products industry

JohnIlly - 11 Sep 2017 11:21:33 (#5 of 52)

I didn't even know it was a person. I assumed it was an article of clothing.

deadmanwalking23 - 11 Sep 2017 11:33:30 (#6 of 52)

Is this him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU7APucqJvQ

Maybe best forgotten

lapsedcat - 11 Sep 2017 11:39:26 (#7 of 52)

He was the big brother you always wished you'd had.

Hillman Avenger, I know what that is. But like everybody else, I've never before heard of Gaz Top.

invicta - 11 Sep 2017 18:50:48 (#9 of 52)

Irritating ITV kids presenter circa 1988, or so, post discovery of hair spray...

TommyDGNR8 - 11 Sep 2017 18:53:09 (#10 of 52)

Avengers had all rusted to dust by the time Gaz Top appeared, surely?

HouseOfLammo - 11 Sep 2017 19:01:06 (#11 of 52)

Talbot Solara, ffs.

FleurDuMal - 11 Sep 2017 19:02:04 (#12 of 52)

This.

bossab2 - 11 Sep 2017 19:08:48 (#13 of 52)

The Avengers outlasted Gaz Top.

Mine was taken to the scrappers in 1991 (it mainly consisted of filler by then)

Lies. Gaz Top was active on TV until at least 1992. I enjoyed his unique blend of cheeky-chappiness and unfettered enthusiasm for everything he was involved with.

MsCharDonnay - 11 Sep 2017 19:16:37 (#15 of 52)

I seem to recall something happened to his hair towards the end.

He wonce described himself as being a vegetable Presbyterian.

popstar7 - 11 Sep 2017 19:19:29 (#16 of 52)

I recall him as indiscriminately enthusiastic and with an unnaturally jet black hue to his spikey barnet that would probably turn purple under the wrong kind of lighting.

moist interesting "sounds" like a game show host in America circa 1976

MsCharDonnay - 11 Sep 2017 19:21:11 (#18 of 52)

He was never moist interesting

thismorning - 11 Sep 2017 19:22:09 (#19 of 52)

dully noted

popstar7 - 11 Sep 2017 19:30:57 (#20 of 52)

Gaz Top was the Stones to Gary Wilmot's Beatles.
