Hello new thread. It’s about time I went to sleep.

Sabacious - 10 Oct 2017 00:25:23 (#2 of 1612)

What do you mean, new tooth?

I'm still working, deep joy.

thismorning - 10 Oct 2017 03:14:04 (#3 of 1612)

bill Murray sang take me out to the ball game during the 7th inning stretch at Wriggly Field today. Cubs won 2-1 over the Nats to take a 2-1 lead in the best of 5 series. Schwarber dropped a fly ball in left field. Then he somehow kicked the ball back toward center field for two errors on the same play. At that point I knew the Cubs were going to win. My nick name for Schwarber is "Kyle, Blind fold On" Schwarber.

I clearly spent enough time in North America as I understood every word of that.

Dubris - 10 Oct 2017 08:25:41 (#5 of 1612)

Congratulations, I think.

Cordelia - 10 Oct 2017 08:32:45 (#6 of 1612)

Morning.

Ricolas - 10 Oct 2017 08:44:02 (#7 of 1612)

Tired this morning. Not sure why, I did not stay up that late. Although did watch the new Star Trek, which I am enjoying quite a lot.

Cordelia - 10 Oct 2017 08:47:00 (#8 of 1612)

I am saving it for a bit of a binge-watch. And I am also very tired after a crap night’s sleep, and being up later than I ought thanks to the delightful Aida at the Coliseum. Utterly wonderful staging and seriously mad hats.

Ricolas - 10 Oct 2017 09:08:14 (#9 of 1612)

I loved doing Aida. Tremendous fun, hell of a sing though. I will try to get to the ENO one, if I can.

Appointment cancelled after chat with the nurse. Thanks helens. I’ve gone back to bed with a coffee.

McLuce - 10 Oct 2017 09:43:51 (#11 of 1612)

I also understood most of #3. Though 50% of the time I have spent at ball games was spent with the WorkIndians trying to make the WorkTexans understand why cricket is 3957638 times better.

Last night I dreamt that I accidentally got a very very short hair cut and had to spend a lot of time avoiding my hairdresser and making up excuses why I couldn& #39;t make it to appointments until it grew back.

American sports seem to be designed around opportunities to eat, it seems to me.

I love baseball caps and have decided that I need to buy a fancy one in DC. Turns out that the ones I favour (the curved peak variety) are known as Dad Caps. This makes me feel very, very old and a little bit foolish.

blaithin - 10 Oct 2017 10:07:19 (#13 of 1612)

Now, I need to go and write something long and complicated and convincing. Come on, Brain - get to work.

HouseOfLammo - 10 Oct 2017 10:16:57 (#14 of 1612)

You obtain a curvy peak by stuffing it in your back pocket.

Everything in America is designed to accommodate conspicuous gluttony.

Today I return to London after my ten day relaxing idyll in the countryside. It'll be fine once I get there, but at the moment I have that oh-so-familiar, "Back to school tomorrow", feeling.

I miss these:

That's your classic Dad Cap right there.

blaithin - 10 Oct 2017 11:29:22 (#19 of 1612)

Whereas this the sort of thing the Young People go for.

Tyhat's the one you want. The alternative is this sort of thing:
