Lost to all sense of decency

But not to all sense of whimsy, oh no.

Posters of a nervous disposition will be glad to know that I am now fully clothed. They will be even gladder to know that although my get-up includes a denim wastcoat, it is woven in fine stripes like mattress ticking so there is no hint of '70s rocker about it.

Unlike the flares.

blaithin - 12 May 2018 12:03:55 (#3 of 1316)

Pommes's Mum's Air R&B has reminded me of my MIL's Duty Free Bread for Coeliacs.

LippyPongstocking - 12 May 2018 12:12:10 (#4 of 1316)

What is mattress ticking please?

McLuce - 12 May 2018 12:16:05 (#5 of 1316)

We are in Darkest Cornwall drinking cuppa #6354 as the offspring rampage through the toy boxes at the PiLs. Beach later I think

I am at work. Too cloudy for solar viewing unfortunately. Sexy ants it is.

Or even sextants.

helenskywalker - 12 May 2018 12:21:01 (#7 of 1316)

<puts away sexy ant costume>

Sabacious - 12 May 2018 12:22:11 (#8 of 1316)

Work finished for the day, time to pedal off into the rest of the day.

Cordelia - 12 May 2018 12:23:01 (#9 of 1316)

Hahaha. New phone = teaching it my frequently used words again.

You’d be a great sexy ant though Helens.

helenskywalker - 12 May 2018 12:24:12 (#10 of 1316)

It’s the thorax, isn’t it?

Ricolas - 12 May 2018 12:24:29 (#11 of 1316)

lovely legs. all of them.

Ricolas - 12 May 2018 12:25:39 (#12 of 1316)

I note that Ben Folds is cropping up for a solo piano gig at the Barbican, Jedi, in case the Kid from Fame hasn't noticed yet.

helenskywalker - 12 May 2018 12:47:58 (#13 of 1316)

Best believe he already has tickets, yo. I’m beginning to think in a previous life I failed to remember Ben Folds.

AppleCatcher - 12 May 2018 13:13:00 (#14 of 1316)

I want to have a nap before we depart for the aiport at 1630. There's a big black hair spider on the ceiling just above my side of the bed.

It hasn't moved since 7am this morning. Every passing moment increases the likelyhood it'll need to stretch its many many legs, doesn't it?

I'm so tired.

Snarlygog - 12 May 2018 14:01:39 (#15 of 1316)

Have had the morning constitutional down to Plymouth's Barbican, it is awash with tiny Buccaneers, armed with plastic cuttless and tiny tricorn hats, "Arre-ing" like a bunch of mini Robert Newtons.

There are two wonderful replica ships and a traditional Punch and Judy (Ur- Eastenders for the younger posters), mermaids and the best Captain Sparrow impersonater in UK.

Cavewoman - 12 May 2018 14:13:41 (#16 of 1316)

Mattress ticking = heavy cotton cloth, usually black/white stripes, traditionally used for covering mattresses. More recently hijacked by Ian Mankin and sold for daft money (but I have Ian Mankin blinds in my kitchen).

Sabacious - 12 May 2018 14:15:22 (#17 of 1316)

So stripes then?

Cavewoman - 12 May 2018 14:15:57 (#18 of 1316)

Not just any old stripes.

Sabacious - 12 May 2018 14:17:31 (#19 of 1316)

Special stripes.

Sabacious - 12 May 2018 14:19:35 (#20 of 1316)

Elevated from mere stripehood by having a special name. Yves Klein would never have got very far if he’d called his painting ‘any old blue’.
