Post your whimsy here

How's your tomato foot?

Rendered - 07 May 2019 11:10:36 (#1022 of 2009)

Tender. What with my strained knee, I'm effectively hobbled.

I have six (6) more days in the office after today, then two (2) days running a training course, then ten (10) days in lovely France, including a visit to Pommes and luxie!

We have three more days of sun and walking in rural, mountainous Tarbena, where they speak Mallorcan, rather than the surrounding Valencian. My wife is finding it hard to practise her Castilian, which is the main reason for this holiday.

Bit of a research failure, but it's very relaxing and friendly.

I think it's Pommes et Luxie Patters. At least according to Google Translate.

Should have gone to rural, mountainous Burgos, Tom, for Castillano wot is spoke best. Also the morcilla capital of Spain, which is a bonus.

#1013 - One of my childhood friends lived in a bungalow with that picture over the living room fireplace, set against imitation wood boarding in a not quite rosewood colour. I remember thinking that it was a bit naughty, because the lady didn't have any clothes on and was clearly outdoors.

Oh, and I have slightly more than 50 days in the office, then I'm taking my mother away for a week in North Norfolk, because I am a dutiful son.

Ain't life grand, eh?

TheVoiceOfReason - 07 May 2019 20:16:05 (#1029 of 2009)

I’ve just left the office! ///The Man\\\ I’m unsure how much extra wealth was created.

Dubris - 07 May 2019 20:22:31 (#1030 of 2009)

Ouch. Were you not measuring it on an extrawealthometer?

TheVoiceOfReason - 07 May 2019 20:27:28 (#1031 of 2009)

Can I also say that I do not give ONE SINGLE SOLITARY SHIT about the Met gala ball? Why is all of UK Twitter going nuts about an American event that no one’s ever heard of, attended by a pack of airheads dressed in ludicrous costumes?

<and breathe>

Dubris - 07 May 2019 20:30:37 (#1032 of 2009)

I looked at some of the pictures of the costumes and thought they were many things but somehow not quite camp, which is what they were supposed to be.

Some wonderfully odd captions from the Graun's reportage:

Carey Mulligan wearing Prada, with Alexa Chung wearing custom Alexa Chung

Frank Ocean in a Prada anorak

I thought they'd been put away for the season, it not being March now.

slicey - 07 May 2019 21:21:23 (#1036 of 2009)

That one with extra eyes on his/her face made me lose my balance and I had to look at RuPaul not in a dress to recover my equilibrium.

Dubris - 07 May 2019 21:21:28 (#1037 of 2009)

From the pictures it looks a very neatly designed anorak, but about as far from camp as it's possible to get.

I am enjoying my new MASSIVE TELLY and the new Battenburg in Ultra HD 4K something or other looks astonishing.

Cordelia - 07 May 2019 21:35:03 (#1039 of 2009)

Someone in a Facebook group to which I belong has just said - while discussing self-care - that as well as daily meditation, exercising etc, she has also been manifesting.

WTF is that? In my mental picture she is now appearing out of thin air in various places.
