Just socks for the seasonal clothing.

At first, I thought the police had made these "grab bags" themselves and had them sent out to people's houses.

You could put a crisps grab bag in your grab bag.

Leftie - 09 Sep 2019 13:14:53 (#4 of 72)

That's true. A huge packet of Walkers.

donttellhimpike - 09 Sep 2019 13:16:04 (#5 of 72)

All you really need is a gun, then you can have as many of the neighbours' grab bags as you want, when it all goes tits up.

I don't have one in my house, but I have a winter grab-bag in my car, in case of snow or breakdown.

Pixiedust - 09 Sep 2019 13:17:27 (#7 of 72)

I've got one. I picked up the habit from PapaPixie, who often had to travel at short notice.

SisterPixie's husband reckons Papa is a spy.

What's the notepad for - wiping your arse?

bossab2 - 09 Sep 2019 13:25:03 (#9 of 72)

Are we expecting a nuclear war imminently ?

tasselhoff - 09 Sep 2019 13:25:21 (#10 of 72)

I used to have a grab-bag when I drove long distances. It's just sensible. Now it's in case of No Deal bumps in the road.

donttellhimpike - 09 Sep 2019 13:25:32 (#11 of 72)

Just a general breakdown in society.

bossab2 - 09 Sep 2019 13:26:20 (#12 of 72)

Money, mobile, meds.

The 3 Ms.

Pixiedust - 09 Sep 2019 13:32:20 (#15 of 72)

I'm partial to a crossbow.

Arjuna - 09 Sep 2019 13:51:31 (#16 of 72)

If I packed a grab bag, I would only forget where I put it.

staticgirl - 09 Sep 2019 13:58:11 (#17 of 72)

I don't have the space to keep one really but I have a list of things to pack if I suddenly have to go to hospital or something. That Police Scotland article is useful. I bet they're primarily thinking about people trapped by snow or floods.

Pixiedust - 09 Sep 2019 13:59:21 (#18 of 72)

If I packed a grab bag, I would only forget where I put it.

By your bedroom door is always a good idea.

Leftie - 09 Sep 2019 14:04:44 (#19 of 72)

Why are the Scottish Police calling a torch a "flashlight"?

tasselhoff - 09 Sep 2019 14:04:57 (#20 of 72)

Or in the car boot. Some people have several.
