Lost orders

Time, ladies and gentlemen, please.

As pubs prepare to open again, get into some practice with laboured whimsy here.

Have we had this one already? The memory...it goes.

helenskywalker - 25 Jun 2020 14:29:48 (#2 of 1947)

I like it. Simple and elegant.

SorrellA - 25 Jun 2020 14:30:26 (#3 of 1947)

V good

SorrellA - 25 Jun 2020 14:31:05 (#4 of 1947)

We must have had Lost Chance Saloon at some point?

Sabacious - 25 Jun 2020 14:32:10 (#5 of 1947)

Hondootedly

May I complain about today here? It seemed a good idea to wash the bedding while it was warm and dry - there seemed to be more bulk than usual, but I was doing towels and stuff so just went ahead.

So now it's getting humid and HOW am I going to dry a Hungarian goose-down pillow, pray tell me?

Also choices - try to sleep with fewer pillows or try to sleep on a damp pillow?

helbel - 25 Jun 2020 14:50:25 (#7 of 1947)

Roll up towel under pillow for extra height.

elderberry - 25 Jun 2020 14:52:12 (#8 of 1947)

That sounds sensible, and the towels are actually dry. If we're really lucky there'll be a massive thunderstorm and sleeping won't be a thing anyway.

I have cycled to my mother's to bring her home made roll mops. Now returned and wolfed down. my second calippo-alike of the day. Giving myself rotten brain freeze. I am now trying to fix the mansplainers' problems. Slightly gleefully.

Ginmonkey - 25 Jun 2020 15:35:11 (#10 of 1947)

I love a bit of mansplaining.

My favourite one was when I went to a senior work committee to discuss a project proposal. A very over confident male colleague asked me if I had heard of a paper that might be relevant as it was quite similar to my proposed project, and then proceeded to explain why that was.

Reader - the author of that paper was me.

The cat is sleeping under the Acanthus. I have been sleeping under the cherry tree. I can't seem to find the energy to do anything today.

Dubris - 25 Jun 2020 15:49:39 (#12 of 1947)

I worry that I slip into mansplaining sometimes. I have in the past asked my colleagues to tell me to shut up, if necessary.

helbel - 25 Jun 2020 15:55:01 (#13 of 1947)

Now is not the day to do stuff. Everything can wait until Saturday when the infernal heat will hopefully end.

Crayola - 25 Jun 2020 15:55:07 (#14 of 1947)

This particular project team has two blokes who are awful for it. And they hate each other, so it's mansplaining and dick waving at the same time. While me, the other woman on the team and the happy to be beta and good at his job other bloke do all the actual work. It's tiring .

Crayola - 25 Jun 2020 15:56:26 (#15 of 1947)

I've just been bitten on the calf, so I think the cat has come indoors.

goldfinch - 25 Jun 2020 16:02:20 (#16 of 1947)

#13Thank you, helbel. I shall continue to fritter the day away then.

Ricolas - 25 Jun 2020 16:04:08 (#17 of 1947)

Another day of bookshop mayhem. Blimey. Beer now, and then to ponder barbecuing the very dickens out of hunks of bleeding flesh.

Sabacious - 25 Jun 2020 16:09:50 (#18 of 1947)

I have a 2kg skirt steak that’s been doing it’s thing in Korean style marinade overnight. I think there will be three meat eaters. Sounds about right.

helenskywalker - 25 Jun 2020 16:12:13 (#19 of 1947)

I am cooking a gammon joint in cider and will be having it later with potato salad and other salady bits.

slicey - 25 Jun 2020 16:17:27 (#20 of 1947)

I am having a cheese sandwhich. Which is the first I have eaten all day as part of my recheck all my insulin dosing numbers strategy.

The phone app I am using is very good but I almost uninstalled after it greeted me this morning with a "Hey! Looks like we are trending a bit high!".
