Stupid adverts.

This was a army recruitment radio ad.

Sound track was of helicopters and heavy machine guns firing.

You had to guess what was going on. My guess was just another stupid illegal war.

But no. Apparently, it was the army rescuing people caught up in hurricane.

Eh? Helicopters flying in a hurricane??? Heavy machine guns shooting at the wind???

I don’t get it.

The header says “Stupid adverts” but you’ve only described one advert.

Is there another to follow?

Are we supposed to be offering our own examples?

In mitigation to the header, maybe it was a montage of army ‘sounds’..

There's already a thread elsewhere on this, media I think.

I renominate the annoying guy off the Asda adverts.

Aga,

Yes but you had to guess what the sounds were meant to depict. Logically, given the final answer, they must have been shooting people to save them from the hurricane...

Adon,

Haven't heard that one. What is stupid about it?

It wasn't an ad. It was an intro for a male-oriented show.

solo,

Yeah, that was, indeed, a stupid ad.
