Smiling, light-footed strangers... they had lost.

Shit whimsy for us all.

She hated them, these smiling, light-footed strangers, these proud fools who took pride in something they had lost, seeming to be proud that they had lost it.

First!

breakfast - 21 Nov 2020 18:46:48 (#2 of 1830)

Were you tipped off though?

JennyRad - 21 Nov 2020 18:47:33 (#3 of 1830)

Yeah, I reckon Airy probably cheated there.

airynothing - 21 Nov 2020 18:53:40 (#4 of 1830)

<shuffles feet>

Dubris - 21 Nov 2020 19:26:43 (#5 of 1830)

It was an inside job.

jamalade - 21 Nov 2020 19:28:08 (#6 of 1830)

Terrible no social distancing.

HouseOfLametta - 21 Nov 2020 19:39:45 (#7 of 1830)

Little Len's Christmas list has "Henry VIII's Jelly Chicken" on it.

TheVoiceOfReason - 21 Nov 2020 19:41:35 (#8 of 1830)

Can’t beat Gentleman’s relish on a toasted English muffin on a cold afternoon.

Sabacious - 21 Nov 2020 19:44:08 (#9 of 1830)

"Henry VIII's Jelly Chicken"

Giblets in aspic?

breakfast - 21 Nov 2020 20:05:23 (#10 of 1830)

You can get Henry VIII (8) rubber ducks on Amazon. It's almost the same.

slicey - 21 Nov 2020 20:06:51 (#11 of 1830)

Coincidentally, I just read a long article all about how Henry VIII was even worse than you think. Worst. King. Ever.

HouseOfLametta - 21 Nov 2020 20:10:20 (#12 of 1830)

Worse than Stephen?

Crayola - 21 Nov 2020 20:15:46 (#13 of 1830)

Is Stephen the one that as so bad they banned the use of Stephen as a name? Or did I make that bit of history up?

Dubris - 21 Nov 2020 20:48:18 (#14 of 1830)

Stephen is the one who was involved in The Anarchy along with Matilda.

breakfast - 21 Nov 2020 20:51:55 (#15 of 1830)

He writes those horror novels.

HouseOfLametta - 21 Nov 2020 21:10:47 (#16 of 1830)

All shit.

Maybe Louis was the worst of them all, at least we remember Henry and his jelly chicken.

I am watching Danny Dyer shout at a giant billboard. He is so ridiculously camp.

Cordelia - 21 Nov 2020 21:22:56 (#18 of 1830)

I had a sudden craving for something sweet so I made some oaty gingery biscuits and now I can’t stop eating them. Help!

limegreen - 21 Nov 2020 21:23:19 (#19 of 1830)

Lippy, when Victoria Wood died, people said her comedy was never mean about people. I disagree. I think it's quite vicious in places. And great.

LippyPongstocking - 21 Nov 2020 21:29:42 (#20 of 1830)

Absolutely. Much of her comedy (as the best stuff often is) was based on human observation, so it was inevitably going to be very sharp at times. I don't think it was ever needlessly cruel, but it could certainly be bracing and quite acid.
