Things you do that show you up as, at best, a second class JTTer.

I sometimes go to Wetherspoons; I shop at Asda; and I like Adrian Chiles.

lammaMia - 04 May 2022 22:53:44 (#1 of 316)

I have shopped at walmart and I shop at Amazon.

I don't absolutely hate U2.

I read less than 60 books a year and most books I read are not paper books.

virgil5 - 05 May 2022 04:14:06 (#2 of 316)

Born in the USA.

machiavelli - 05 May 2022 05:35:59 (#3 of 316)

I have books by Rider Haggard and Kipling.

Dubris - 05 May 2022 05:41:28 (#4 of 316)

I'm nowhere near a lemon (not a current thing, I grant you, but I have a long memory).

surferboogiewhatever - 05 May 2022 06:49:47 (#5 of 316)

I like lots of bands that are frowned on here.

I never put people on ignore.

I have never knowingly read or cooked a recipe by Ottolenghi.

Tenesmus - 05 May 2022 06:51:03 (#6 of 316)

I've been around for over 20 years and haven't heard of most of the usernames from the past people wistfulize about.

LobsangRampa - 05 May 2022 08:05:30 (#7 of 316)

I don't hate Bono or Alex James. I guess we are allowed to like Clarkson after the farming prog. I've accepted the result of the Brexit referendum and don't hanker after the EU. I also think that the world is becoming a better place for the vast majority of its population and that climate change can and will be managed. I guess my glass is half full. Oh and I think religion is, on the whole, a force for good.

Lawlsie - 05 May 2022 08:15:20 (#8 of 316)

I have a subscription to The Times and The Spectator. I like articles by Douglas Murray. I enjoy driving and find cyclists a nuisance. I think all the best music was made a long time ago. Ditto films. I rarely watch any TV and never any reality shows. I don't subscribe to any streaming services.

I mainly eat ready made meals. Never cook from scratch. I shop at Aldi and Waitrose.

ishyomah - 05 May 2022 08:28:16 (#9 of 316)

I have actively sought pipistrelles

LemonGrass - 05 May 2022 08:32:40 (#10 of 316)

I’ve met Bono. He’s a nice chap.

dottie30 - 05 May 2022 09:05:50 (#11 of 316)

I don't jump around to 'secret threads' to parade my disordered obsessions with other posters.

LobsangRampa - 05 May 2022 09:07:47 (#12 of 316)

Douglas Murray writes well, doesn't he Lawslie?

What are 'secret threads'? Is there a dark web version of JTT?

RosyLovelady - 05 May 2022 09:17:00 (#13 of 316)

There's no need to go to secret threads. You can parade your obsessions anywhere.

FleurDuMal - 05 May 2022 09:20:39 (#14 of 316)

I shop at Waitrose, holiday in France and drink cheap Prosecco.

RosyLovelady - 05 May 2022 09:23:55 (#15 of 316)

I dislike foreign holidays, most opera and most sports.

fogsake - 05 May 2022 09:37:14 (#16 of 316)

I've got homes I never use.

Lawlsie - 05 May 2022 09:44:12 (#17 of 316)

Douglas Murray writes well, doesn't he Lawslie?

Yes. I like reading people whose views don't accord with mine. He's of the right though I'm not sure he'd categorise himself that way and also gay. I find that interesting. The Left doesn't own minorities though some seem to think they should. I also read Melanie Phillips but I draw the line at Iain Martin. His smug smiling byline pic puts me right off.

I follow Danny Finkelstein and David Aaronovitch on Twitter. I try to avoid being in an echo chamber.

Yersinia - 05 May 2022 09:48:40 (#18 of 316)

I am so third rate (or below) that I didn't realise that some of these things make a poster, at best, a second class JTTer.

LobsangRampa - 05 May 2022 09:50:04 (#19 of 316)

I try to avoid being in an echo chamber.

Likewise. Perhaps we're in the wrong place. There seem to be so many threads which only serve as a space for people to agree how awful it all is. I find that this place has made me more right wing - though I know that if I was on the Daily Mail equivalent I'd have signed up to Momentum years ago.

If you never visit them, fogsake, they're not 'homes'.

Tagyourit - 05 May 2022 09:50:19 (#20 of 316)

I'm not left wing and I don't regard Tories as inherently evil ( Priti Patel excluded, obvs).

I didn't go to university and am nowhere near as well read as most posters here.
