This continues the weather...

The previous "The Weather Thread" ran from 6th March 2011 to today 22 October 2014.

bossab2 - 22 Oct 2014 23:52:36 (#2 of 7676)

Outlook: Wet and Windy:

UK Outlook for Thursday 6 Nov 2014 to Thursday 20 Nov 2014:

The main signal is for a continuation of a north-south split during the second week of November. During this period, the generally westerly flow is likely to bring spells of wet and windy weather, mostly affecting northern and some western areas, but perhaps reaching other areas as well interspersed with drier intervals. However southern and some eastern areas will probably see more in the way of drier and settled conditions increasing the likelihood of seeing some sunshine, but also the risk of frost, mist and fog overnight, the latter of which could be slow to clear. After this it looks like unsettled weather will spread to much of the UK. Daytime temperatures will probably be near or a little above normal, although feeling cooler during any wet and windy spells.

You just wanted to see how much you could get into the header, didn't you?

WibbleAgain - 23 Oct 2014 12:21:28 (#4 of 7676)

Cold and dark all morning. Beginning to lighten a little, and some hints of blue in the sky now. At least it's been dry.

ArriveAlive - 23 Oct 2014 12:26:32 (#5 of 7676)

Overcast first thing. To be replaced by broken clouds and gusting wind as the morning wore on.

WibbleAgain - 23 Oct 2014 12:27:37 (#6 of 7676)

Actually it's just darkened a great deal again, and the hints of blue are completely gone. Woe!

bossab2 - 23 Oct 2014 13:53:40 (#7 of 7676)

Bump.

WibbleAgain - 23 Oct 2014 13:56:06 (#8 of 7676)

Bossab, you might like to write to the Mods and ask for the old thread to be closed?

hedgie - 23 Oct 2014 22:05:08 (#9 of 7676)

Still very wet and windy. More gales forecast.

ArriveAlive - 23 Oct 2014 22:26:08 (#10 of 7676)

Quite a mild evening.

10smith - 23 Oct 2014 23:55:01 (#11 of 7676)

Quite nice, boss, thank you.

GighaTec - 24 Oct 2014 07:45:54 (#12 of 7676)

Gusts of 85mph here Tuesday just gone and more strong SW wind coming this weekend

ArriveAlive - 24 Oct 2014 08:26:16 (#13 of 7676)

And a mild morning. The overnight rain has stopped, although more is forecast for lunchtime.

WibbleAgain - 24 Oct 2014 08:30:33 (#14 of 7676)

Grey and dry and mild.

WibbleAgain - 24 Oct 2014 08:38:40 (#15 of 7676)

Oooh the sun has come out! Full blast!

HerrWalrus - 24 Oct 2014 09:34:02 (#16 of 7676)

Looks changeable out there. No sign of winter coming as yet.

bossab2 - 24 Oct 2014 11:08:41 (#17 of 7676)

Yes its looking like Warm Wet and Windy (WWW) until Christmas - so I'm not expecting a white one.

There's often a change over point around early Jan - and that might be when it flips over to Cold and Dry.

Anchorman - 24 Oct 2014 11:22:35 (#18 of 7676)

Thanks for the new thread Boss

HerrWalrus - 24 Oct 2014 11:23:46 (#19 of 7676)

Nah, we often get a cold blast in the first half of December.

bossab2 - 24 Oct 2014 11:24:54 (#20 of 7676)

Well my money is on mainly WWW till Christmas.
