I love the T34 more than I have loved any woman.

Am I wrong?

Try a Saturday night out in Whitley Bay. You can probably manage to find a combination of the two.

NightmareOnBelmSt - 11 Sep 2015 23:41:39 (#4 of 24)

We don't have "anything that macho" because we spend 2% of our GDP on weapons rather than the 13% which the Soviet Union gleefully spoffed.

Multiply our defence spending sixfold and we'd have something a sight more impressive than the Tu-160, pretty as it is.

Not necessarily, but I hope you wipe it down after you finish.

Arjuna - 11 Sep 2015 23:43:56 (#6 of 24)

I guess it depends on which women you have loved.

Phokus - 11 Sep 2015 23:44:30 (#7 of 24)

haha

But really, lovely tank.

Whitely Bay here I come.

The Centurion shits all over the T-34.

So do a lot of tanks that were built decades later, but for its time it ruled.

NightmareOnBelmSt - 12 Sep 2015 00:20:10 (#10 of 24)

The Centurion first appeared in January 1945 and was in full service by 1946.

Hardly "decades later" than the T-34.

Phokus - 12 Sep 2015 00:26:35 (#11 of 24)

ok, fairy nuff.

The T34 was around in 1940 tho' and there was a lot of tank stuff happening during the war.

Apples and oranges.

toffle - 12 Sep 2015 00:52:02 (#12 of 24)

You'd expect a heavy tank to beat a medium.

How does the Centurion measure up against a JS-3, though?

We do have two shiny aircraft carriers,no planes yet, but they have a cute gun at one corner.

Great !

emorobot - 12 Sep 2015 14:45:30 (#15 of 24)

That aircraft is quite tasty, but why is it in Morris Marina w̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ beige?

At least ours are a reasonable, militaristic grey, although personally I'd have mine done in matt black with all hammers and sickles and stuff. Keep the red star though of course!

Moschops - 12 Sep 2015 14:52:02 (#16 of 24)

Vulcans are tons better looking than that

tasselhoff - 12 Sep 2015 14:55:21 (#17 of 24)

But their carbon footprint is terrible

emorobot - 12 Sep 2015 14:57:10 (#18 of 24)

Vulcans are AWESOME. And they could totally have a Blackjack in a fight. Sadly they fell victims to David Cameron's cuts (probably). Boo!

localhost - 12 Sep 2015 14:59:29 (#19 of 24)

Vulcans were axed years ago, I'd guess late last century.

We were going to replace them with something but spent huge bundles of money on some stuff that never quite got finished.

I liked Vivienne Westwood's white tank (or APC, whatever): http://www.theguardian.com/environment/video/2015/
