See link. Mrs Philips whose family comes from Poloand whose first name is French in origins using apostrophes that were derived from the French language and who most likely has an iphone built by a company (Apple) whose founder (ie Steve Jobs) was the grandson of a Syrian named Abdul.

But am sure my fellow posters have even more to say about this matter...

And yes the grandson of a Syrian named Abdul did fundamentally alter the culture of Britain, not entirely positive with all those damn hipsters on that ipod/iphone/ipad tinkering away at their inspiration. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!
!!

Verdigris - 13 Sep 2015 19:28:47 (#2 of 41)

She could migrate to Israel and do us all a favour.

Brunothecat - 13 Sep 2015 19:28:56 (#3 of 41)

Mad old trout. Can't be arsed reading her crap, sorry.

KanKhaderKhanKan - 13 Sep 2015 19:29:47 (#4 of 41)

Bruno: You should, it skewers her views on this subject rather well.

dreams99 - 13 Sep 2015 19:31:14 (#5 of 41)

She comes from Pololand? She must be minted.

clammy - 13 Sep 2015 19:31:38 (#6 of 41)

Are we talking about OH, M Phillips phew.

Ginmonkey - 13 Sep 2015 19:35:32 (#7 of 41)

Being an immigrant does not automatically make one sympathetic to others. Mr Monkey's dad was an economic migrant who came here for a better job, got married and had five children. He retained his thick Galway accent until the day he died and rarely socialised outside of the local Irish social club and church.

However he would treat us all to regular rants about immigrants who come over here , take jobs, have loads of children and never integrate.

The Steve Jobs fact (ie that he was the child of a Syrian) was unknown to me and one I intend to use in future whenever I encountered bigoted trolls posting about 'them worthless Arabs'.

FleurDuMal - 13 Sep 2015 19:45:13 (#9 of 41)

Michael Portillo is another example.

KanKhaderKhanKan - 13 Sep 2015 19:53:21 (#10 of 41)

FleurDuMal: Not many people know this but one of Seinfeld's aunts come from Aleppo (ie a Syrian).

Also Michael Howard

Howard was born in Gorseinon in the northwest of Swansea, Wales. He is the son of Bernat Hecht, who was born in Romania and came to Britain in 1939.[2] His mother, Hilda (Kershion), lived in Wales from the age of 6 months. Both of Howard's parents were from Jewish families and Howard is a practising Jew.[3][4] When Howard was six, the family name, Hecht, was anglicized to Howard.[5]

Bad example though, he is worthless.

Agaliarept - 13 Sep 2015 19:56:56 (#13 of 41)

Bojo's granddad was Turkish.

Arjuna - 13 Sep 2015 19:58:30 (#14 of 41)

Hitler emigrated to Germany

KanKhaderKhanKan - 13 Sep 2015 20:00:39 (#15 of 41)

Not many people also know that Frank Zappa was of Lebanese descent.

That's another pesky Arab.

RosyLovelady - 13 Sep 2015 20:01:55 (#16 of 41)

And then there's Saatchi and Saatchi.

KanKhaderKhanKan - 13 Sep 2015 20:02:42 (#17 of 41)

solomongursky - 13 Sep 2015 20:02:51 (#18 of 41)

Brunothecat - 13 Sep 2015 20:03:43 (#19 of 41)

They don't have to marry Melanie, mind.

RosyLovelady - 13 Sep 2015 20:04:38 (#20 of 41)

< There's been a lot of talented people also. >

Very true, and even the less talented include a vast majority of AOK people.
