Britain Falls Outside Top 10 In Global Citizenship Rankings.

Down the slippery slope, note the top 10 are all in the EEA.

Perhaps something to send to your MP.

What's a global citizenship ranking?

Don't They Know Who We Are?

(on the bright side, surely we should be thrilled with this development, as it might further decrease immigration?)

phantlers - 13 Sep 2017 11:59:20 (#4 of 34)

"Outside the top ten" meaning 11th place, seems a tad overwrought. I like this linked story: https://www.aol.co.uk/news/2017/09/12/its-a-total-monster-130-tonne-fatberg-blocks-sewer-under-lon/

The QNI is explained here by a scary-sounding woman:

London, twinned with Pyongyang

RosyLovelady - 13 Sep 2017 12:37:27 (#8 of 34)

This is the second (!) such ranking of the nations by this outfit, but the link don't say what the UK's previous ranking was.

browserbutton - 13 Sep 2017 12:40:32 (#9 of 34)

The UK was 12th in 2016, so in fact it has moved up a place.

So Brexit is already making us better off then!

RosyLovelady - 13 Sep 2017 12:48:17 (#12 of 34)

No one I know has actually lost their job since the vote, but then not many people I know had a job in the first place.

Kucinghitam - 13 Sep 2017 13:05:16 (#13 of 34)

So Brexit is already making us better off then!

Brexit is officially a success!

Germany is always at the top, and Afghanistan is always at the bottom.

lusmeri1 - 13 Sep 2017 13:15:43 (#15 of 34)

The site is rubbish to navigate.

bignosebignose - 13 Sep 2017 13:22:24 (#16 of 34)

We're still 12th really, insofar as there are 11 above us.

RosyLovelady - 13 Sep 2017 13:29:26 (#17 of 34)

The site seems to have been designed for maximum obscurity. They are evidently proud of their

Seamless service from home to target country

whatever that might be. Any ideas?

rearranged - 13 Sep 2017 13:40:10 (#18 of 34)

Given that the economy forms a key part of their measure, I suspect the fall in the value of Sterling is a key cause of any drop in our standing.

lusmeri1 - 13 Sep 2017 16:36:12 (#19 of 34)

Never mind, we are still 'extremely high quality'.

I'm not sure whether the economy is that important, rearranged. Spain ranks well above us. I wonder when the information on which the ratings were compiled was actually gathered, though.

ChankNolen - 13 Sep 2017 17:41:20 (#20 of 34)

'What's a global citizenship ranking?'

What, indeed.

I think this should be filed alongside those 'chaviest towns' surveys and the ones that the estate agents construct that say everyone should aspire to live in Bracknell.
