Man to marry woman.

... as Private Eye will greet the news.

The BBC channel has gone into full-on Royal fawning mode. Where's Witchell? These past years he's looked thoroughly pissed off with having the Royal assignment and I find his mien quite amusing as he glumly puffs his way through the utter tedium of The Family's doings.

How will the Daily Mail fulminate about this mixed race American divorcee showgirl?

I for one am glad to hear that Angela Merkel has at last found someone to marry her wayward little sister.

A "style advisor" was on the BBC saying something like "unfortunately the newspapers will pit [whatever Harry's betrothed is called] and Kate against each other. The women themselves won't do it. The newspapers will: they will constantly saying 'which is the more stylish...'"

Well, if you think that would be an unfortunate circumstance I'd advise not putting the idea in their heads within an hour of the announcement.

There being no dreadlocks that I remember at Charles and Diana's wedding is a sign of how far we've come.

Presumably the wedding car won't be a Mercedes.
