The shock new trend of PENIS WHITENING has captivated the Internet in recent days and has left people asking if the beauty industry is taking things too far. When a clip of a the intriguing procedure was posted online, it quickly went viral.

The BBC spoke to one patient who had undergone the treatment, who told them: "I wanted to feel more confident in my swimming briefs". Health ministers have since issued a warning over the procedure. Jeremy Hunt said, "Our overstretched NHS simply should not be performing such procedures." Campaigners from the penis-whitening community rounded on him on Twitter, however. Harvest Internet Wackadoo-ness Here Thread ===>

“I call mine ‘Mini-Milk” said TV Chef Ainsley Harriot.

I used to work for magazines based in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Whitening is a very big thing there. There are pages and pages of ads for skin-lightening products though they're sold as moisturisers and way to get smoother skin. They're nothing of the kind. Light skin is very highly valued there - a Malaysian editor told me on my visit.

Had no idea it had spread to penises but makes sense. They like it white there!

A lot of those creams are sold illegally in the UK. They are horrible things, they basically damage your skin permanently.

I wanted to feel more confident in my swimming briefs

I've yet to see a pair of swimming briefs which show the colour of one's penis.

One might venture to suggest that if it's a problem, then they're a little too brief.

Perhaps Goldfinger just wanted to lighten 007's penis with that laser.

PENIS WHITENING

Also known as “washing it”.

"The penis, whitier than the sword."

Yes, that's vile isn't it Gin? Maybe we need to ask why some people of colour want to whiten their skins so much they they end doing permanent damage to themselves?

It's horrific.

FrankieTeardrop - 05 Jan 2018 13:19:10 (#11 of 68)

I saw this title and thought Yay! Patters returns.

Rendered - 05 Jan 2018 13:19:54 (#12 of 68)

Hmmm, why might people want to lighten their skin? It's a toughie, alright.

RosyLovelady - 05 Jan 2018 13:24:47 (#13 of 68)

Michael Jackson didn't use skin lighteners, oh no.

indlovubill - 05 Jan 2018 13:30:47 (#14 of 68)

You might also ask why so many white people want to darken their skins.

Lawlsie - 05 Jan 2018 13:31:48 (#15 of 68)

You may well indeed ask that Bill.

Or why former brunettes such as I go blonde as we get older to cover the grey.

But vanity is not the same thing as disgust and self loathing.

kokolores - 05 Jan 2018 13:34:26 (#16 of 68)

Isn't it a status thing? In Asia, a suntan doesn't mean "I can afford holidays in the Med".

Then it got extended to cocks.

Lawlsie - 05 Jan 2018 13:37:38 (#17 of 68)

Yes, status. Very much so.

A suntan was a low status thing in this country and a white skin, but fat body, highly prized. It signalled you had means. Now it's the opposite. Tanned and thin is prized; fat and white means you're probably an overeating chav.

wickeltisch - 05 Jan 2018 13:41:30 (#18 of 68)

Perhaps there'll be a market for see-through briefs in future, made of some sort of plastic material.

widenation - 05 Jan 2018 15:21:38 (#19 of 68)

White Lightning.

JohnIlly - 05 Jan 2018 15:43:38 (#20 of 68)

The headline to that link is: Thai penis whitening trend raises eyebrows

They must be doing it wrong.
