More decent discussion from the UK News stalwarts
Especially if you have bright kids, no?
I don’t mind marking.
I will never repeat my mistake of correcting a student’s erroneous use of ‘less’, with ‘fewer, ffs!’, however.
Now you know why they tell teachers not to mark in red pen....
Why won't you correct a grammatical error again, Fleur?
Oh, nice to see you back, Toss, you old wanker!
It was the 'ffs' element that might have been a bit superfluous.
Several times I've found myself using old Talk expressions in real-life conversation with civilians: wrongmo, aces & skill, do one wankfan ...

Hahaha
Does your wife know about this?
I have to have a profile to be able to write these FAQs. I took the advice of the lovely Claire (my contact at the company) and created a profile as a 23 year old woman. My profile has no picture, and a three word description ("Just a girl"). I get a *lot* of messages, and it's all been quite an eye-opener!
Any dick pics?
No, but a lot of people my age - the creepy old buggers. I would imagine the dick picks start coming once you're actually engaging with them.
I promised I wouldn't respond to any posters, but there are a few I'm dying to ask just who they think they're going to attract with their profiles, their pictures and their lines.

That's probably H*lfN*ls*n and B*ss*b.
what would their success rate be I wonder?
They should just send out a cock pic. All the chicks love a cock pic. They say, 'Monsieur, with this unsolicited picture of your genitalia you are really spoiling us'.
hah! Just had a call asking if I'd be interested in a role on the EU Exit Programme as part of the Project Management team. When I politely declined the agent sighed and said "No one want's to work there, at this rate Brexit's going to get cancelled cos no one wants to run it".
What rate?
Aside from a cost in terms of your soul, that is!
That's interesting Tag.
Morning all and hi shiny new thread.
On the teaching thing... aren't there now several routes into teaching? One of which is training on the job? Bit like nursing used to be so it's a few weeks classroom study then straight into a school - supervised obviously.
I had no idea PGCEs were crap! Truly, I didn't. But in my day you could still train for three years to be a teacher at what was called a teacher training college though officially known as Colleges of Education and aligned with the nearest university.
Also you could get in with five O levels as they were then.
I presume you can't get a B.Ed anymore? Or do three years training to be a teacher? I think that's a shame. I think the three-year course had much to commend it, vocational and plenty time to get lots of teaching practice in over three years. I think you did a fourth year to get the B.Ed.
Always thought the PGCE meant the teaching practice bit was very crammed in and rushed though you then do a further year as an NQT before being a qualified teacher.
A few years back, quite some time ago perhaps, the then government decided teaching had to be all graduate. I'm not sure even now this is entirely necessary especially if you're teaching really little ones. A strong vocational desire to teach is surely the most important thing?
Fair enough

How much are they paying? If the money's right, I'll do it.
