Basically get a bottle of Night Nurse, mix one measure of it with two of Creme de Menthe and pour over crushed ice! You will sleep it off - possibly for several days!

Seriously Annet Night Nurse has promethazine in it which can make you very sleepy - hence the name. It's probably not a very good idea to mix it with strong alcohol as you could knock yourself out for a long time!

I mix alcohol and drugs all the time but I know what my tolerance is and I tolerate Codeine and alcohol very well. Also Kalms and whatever else I fancy taking. Everyone is different and it can be dangerous to have cocktails of the two.

Depends. I mix alcohol and Paracetamol all the time. Also Ibuprofen. They work very well together, for me, and give me a nice floaty sensation that's deeply pleasant.

However... I really don't drink much. I'm talking about, at most, a glass of wine.

Some people can't take Codeine. It makes them feel sick and/or gives them constipation. Can be very unpleasant. I'm one of the lucky ones. I take to it very well. Some people when they take Codeine make more of it - morphine essentially - in their livers. I read this on one of the leaflets that came with it.

Basically you need to experiment to find out what works best for you. Sleep is the best cure for a virus as you can't take any meds will get rid. But sleep can be difficult when you're ill that's why Night Nurse is so potent but I hate the effect of it. Feel drowsy and horrible the next day. It has alcohol in it as well as paracetamol by the way.

The Leeds game the other day was quite spectacular. Our neighbour is a mad Leeds fan so we followed it through the wall. He later apologised for the noise but we said no need to apologise. We enjoyed the vicarious thrill.

Or start a new regime. Shouldn't start till Feb when the days start drawing out again and it's still light at 5 o'clock.

January still has bits of Christmas in it! Much too soon and sudden to start being healthy. There's the inevitable lag and who hasn't over bought and still got food left over?

Leave it till Feb if you must embark upon self improvement. Or better still March when Spring comes along. Even better, not at all. Just enjoy life and stop beating yourself up about pleasure.
