Who is the stupidest MP and why?

Following on from a link I posted on the Brexit thread.

There are many contenders for this honour.

Labour MP Lucy Powell for wanting to capture and imprison our intrepid sailor.

FleurDuMal - 13 Sep 2018 14:56:08 (#2 of 182)

I nominate Andrea Loathsome:

MsCharDonnay - 13 Sep 2018 14:56:21 (#3 of 182)

David Davis and any other ex-members of the cabinet who are now complaining that "the government" (ie them until a couple of weeks ago) is incompetent over Brexit.

TRaney - 13 Sep 2018 14:56:45 (#4 of 182)

Can I be the first to nominate Jeremy Corbyn

FleurDuMal - 13 Sep 2018 14:57:09 (#5 of 182)

Yep, that's a real pot-kettle interface moment.

mememe - 13 Sep 2018 14:57:29 (#6 of 182)

Jeremy Corbyn has two 'E's at A level despite a very advantaged background and a good school. That's quite dim.

Brunothecat - 13 Sep 2018 14:57:33 (#7 of 182)

Strong challenge from the loathesome one in a crowded field. Its the Cheltenham festival of stupid at present. Dorries has to be very much a front runner though, and I am expecting more from her before the final furlong is reached.

FleurDuMal - 13 Sep 2018 14:57:37 (#8 of 182)

Can I be the first to nominate Jeremy Corbyn

Not without providing a reason.

MsCharDonnay - 13 Sep 2018 14:59:52 (#9 of 182)

For talking nonsense about "the benefits of Brexit" and "jobs first Brexit" and using the money that we used to send to Brussels; ie not understanding that there is no evidence or suggestion that there will be a net financial benefit, and being anti-austerity is incompatible with being pro-Brexit.

FleurDuMal - 13 Sep 2018 15:00:58 (#10 of 182)

Aw, don't turn this into another Corbyn thread - I should have specified stupidest Tory MP.

Mods, plz edit header.

mingmong - 13 Sep 2018 15:02:36 (#11 of 182)

Chris Grayling has fucked up just about everything he's ever touched. Hard to tell whether its stupidity, incompetence or a weird form of malice

Simonethebeaver - 13 Sep 2018 15:03:37 (#12 of 182)

Oh, so tempting.

Brunothecat - 13 Sep 2018 15:03:39 (#13 of 182)

Whichever twat has just tried sending 27 letters or emails or whatever to other EU countries to try and strike seperate deals. Again. After already being told a year ago this is not possible. Grayling? He has a serious rep for being worse than useless by a country mile.

browserbutton - 13 Sep 2018 15:04:47 (#14 of 182)

Also strange, starey Raab. Has he been taking too many steroids?

Bonusy - 13 Sep 2018 15:06:08 (#15 of 182)

This one has to be a strong contender;

StagedoorJohnny - 13 Sep 2018 15:06:12 (#16 of 182)

Pete Wishart and Ian Blackford could have a dumb-off competition, and somehow both would win.

browserbutton - 13 Sep 2018 15:10:39 (#17 of 182)

Gammon-faced Owen Paterson: "The badgers moved the goalposts!"

Bonusy - 13 Sep 2018 15:10:42 (#18 of 182)

Who votes for these people? I mean, there cannot be enough people in the whole country to elect an MP who don't think astrology in medicine is dumb

SaffronSunrise - 13 Sep 2018 15:12:18 (#19 of 182)

always Philip Davies imo

Andrew Bridgen has been in good form recently

SinnerBoy - 13 Sep 2018 15:13:34 (#20 of 182)

Tredinnick, Christ, what a wanker! Do you think he can lace his own shoes up?
