Three-month sentence at Old Bailey automatically triggers a recall petition in Peterborough seat

So... looks like Labour is going to get an election after. Just not the one they were hoping for.
Can Labour hold the seat? Took it from the Tories in June 2017 with a 607 majority, overturning a 1925 majority from 2015; 4861 in 2010.

IIJM is is that piece really badly written?
The first question most people will ask is "WTF is a recall petition?". So that should be the first thing to be made clear, before you start re-hashing the court case.
Peterborough has been pretty marginal for quite a while. Since ther days of 'Sir' Harmer Nicholls (father of Sue Nicholls of Crossroads fame, trivia fans).
Did she not know about Chris Huhne and his wife? What a stupid person she is.
''the sun was shining in my eyes, your Honour''
She remains an MP and will continue to get her MP's salary.
I've no idea if constituents can write to her in jail and she's allowed to answer them.
She's been paid nine grand since convicted.
She seems like a bit of a nut job, comparing herself to Jesus.
“I am in good Biblical company along with Joseph, Moses, Daniel and his three Hebrew friends who were each found guilty by the courts of their day. ... Of course this is equally true of Christ who was accused and convicted by the courts of his day."
I think you'll find , Fiona , that Jesus was most definitely not caught exceeding the speed limit in a 30mph zone, but if in fact his contribution to history had been being done for speeding by Pontius Pilate (with or without photographic evidence from a speedcam), then western civilization and its religious affiliation may well have evolved in a different direction..
She said that was a Whatsup message that an MP must have leaked.

Did she not know about Chris Huhne and his wife?
Certainly, but she probably thought that the Police wouldn't get in touch with someone in Russia. I wonder why she's been given such a lenient sentence, in comparison to the Huhnes?
They eventually pleaded guilty, she's still denying it now.
First offence, she'll get away with crucifixion, it's a doddle.
Welease Fiona.

That's why
?? She's been given five months less, despite denying it and being found guilty. The Huhnes pleaded guilty, at a late stage and got eight months apiece.
She's a lawyer. She must've known pleading not guilty would get her a lighter sentence.
Was Vicky Huhne not a lawyer, too? Also, sentences are reduced for pleading guilty. The earlier it's done, the greater the discount. Denying it to the last attracts stiffer sentences.
