I mentioned that I disagree hugely with Corbyn.

Context was pointing out that it is possible to disagree, support, not-flounce.

This thread: reasons for disagreement.

Classic colage.

Jacob_Richter - 04 Feb 2019 12:42:06 (#3 of 346)

Is this a thread for Centrists to come up with alternative policies for Labour? Like following Trump's foreign policies by sucking up to Gulf kleptocrats and overthrowing S.American governments and firing off the odd missile at some Arabs? Or flogging off public services to spivs? And, the old favourite, hiking hospital car park charges?

#grownuppolitics

#talkingtotheadultsintheroom

Because I am pretty sure we've had one of those and it wasn't pretty.

My disagreement is over policy content, style and presentation.

A few major themes:

1. 'The economy'. Beyond a decent slogan, it feels empty. Just a few baubles like NIB. There's no recognition that the world is changing: there's that tiresome, morally-dubious fixation on 'jobs' which has been dated since the 2969s and tainted since workers became contrasted with shirkers.

2. Climate Change. Yes, it matters. And see above.

3. Housing & Social Security. I see reversible tinkering.

4. Education. Er...

col2001 - 04 Feb 2019 12:44:45 (#5 of 346)

Nah, Jacob. All other threads are for that :)

col2001 - 04 Feb 2019 12:45:13 (#6 of 346)

More empty, pointless bantz from Rendered.

Rendered - 04 Feb 2019 12:52:41 (#7 of 346)

More vital policy creation from the colster.

BenSawbridg - 04 Feb 2019 12:52:47 (#8 of 346)

In the same way that Capitalist Money Madness used to be a well loved series of quality threads, perhaps Collers' Think-tank Special might be.

BenSawbridg - 04 Feb 2019 12:53:42 (#9 of 346)

Starting with WEALTH TAX and moving on to WHY SHADDERS WILL BE FIRST AGAINST THE WALL.

FrankieTeardrop - 04 Feb 2019 12:53:58 (#10 of 346)

None of these ABCs ever tell us who should replace Corbyn.

xDiggy - 04 Feb 2019 12:54:21 (#11 of 346)

Nationalising water. Mandatory collective bargaining. Taxing ‘only the top 5%’. A bizzare, almost unfathomable scheme to appropriate 10% of every substantial UK owned business cum tax them. Seumas Mine. Barry Gardiner. Dianne Abbott. Richard Burgon. Chris Williamson.

I hope everyone will treat this thread with the seriousness it deserves.

BenSawbridg - 04 Feb 2019 12:55:17 (#13 of 346)

That's because there is no good answer. This does not invalidate criticism of the #corbster.

The same can be said for big Theresa, come to that

FrankieTeardrop - 04 Feb 2019 12:56:01 (#14 of 346)

TRaney - spooky!

You, sunshine, will be second against the wall.

xDiggy - 04 Feb 2019 12:56:22 (#16 of 346)

Not forgetting repatriation of the manufacture of Blue Passports.

col2001 - 04 Feb 2019 12:58:09 (#17 of 346)

Oh well.

BenSawbridg - 04 Feb 2019 12:58:47 (#18 of 346)

Have you learned your lesson, or are you going to continue to be pompous?

Shadrack22 - 04 Feb 2019 12:59:06 (#19 of 346)

I thought Lawlsie was first again the wall. Have I been promoted?

TRaney - 04 Feb 2019 13:01:29 (#20 of 346)

Poor old once-great poster col2001
