UK Economic Growth Figures Lowest Since Labour Was In Power

In fact the economy contracted in December, what on earth could be the reason?

Thanks for that, riggers Spain second only to South Korea in terms of economic growth.

Perhapds you could remind us all of your assessment of the economic prospects of Spain.

Just my little joke.

Also, I thought the thread needed a boost.

Another Tory recession looms, combined with Br***t it's could well be worse than the 2008 crash for us, though not for the rest of the world, whose vulture / disaster capitalists will swoop.

Not all bad though, the sadists and social darwinists will have a chance to advance the genocidal austerity that they only lied about ending in the first place.

If they'll promise to swoop on you and bill first, they get my vote.

indlovubill - 12 Feb 2019 07:51:56 (#9 of 24)

In which case I can always swoop down to Spain, riggers basket case of southern Europe didn't you say?

Plucky Malta, island of George Cross heroes, going a storm in 2019.

Some arrangement might be made for illegal immigrants in their little boats to bring in food and drugs with which to bribe officials.

Spain clawed back to pre-crash real GDP levels in 2017 IIRC, and good for them. Still got some way to go with unemployment of course, and as for youth unemployment, they're somewhere in the mid 1990s.

Great place in any case, shame it holds such appeal to blustering, self important Brits of a certain age, but so long as you keep spending the Euros I'm sure you'll be very welcome Bill.

GreenFuture - 12 Feb 2019 08:31:42 (#14 of 24)

U.K. already had one of the worst (if not worst) post 2008 recoveries of EU.

This is how much they HATE us, they even insist on having healthier economies. GET US OUT NOW!!

PostmodernToss - 12 Feb 2019 09:11:11 (#15 of 24)

Growth for the EU as a whole is at its lowest for about six years, and UK growth is falling about on a par with the Eurozone.

I doubt Brexit’s helping, but the nine-year boom we’ve been enjoying can’t last forever.

Moschops - 12 Feb 2019 09:18:53 (#16 of 24)

In the EU since the referendum the UK has been ranked 24th for economic growth I believe.

Incisive as ever. And wrong as ever.

Below trend growth isn't a 'boom'.

'When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, 'I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'

Plenty of opportunity to build the cars and aero wings we won't be building. Spain as you probably know, riggers is the world leader in composites and poised to benefit hugely from Brexit, hasta la vista.
