Did anyone have fun on the Northern Line today?!

Twitter is still outraged.

I thought trains to Southport were running just fine today.

It's knackered again today.

I quite like the Tube but it gets a bit scary if you don't know where you are going. I've had STAFF not know the right one to go on.

Google Maps is good for routes, Leftie. Unless you mean where to go within the station, which can be a bit confusing even though it's quite well signposted.

Where to go within the station. I never know which side or anything. The last few times, I was lucky the staff noticed that I looked a bit lost.

I thought trains to Southport were running just fine today.

Well that makes a change.

Trains were back to normal by 2pm after signal failure at Kennington.

I remember when signal failure at Farringdon was a weekly (perhaps almost daily) occurrence on the Circle line. Eventually someone came on the radio to explain that "signal failure" doesn't mean what everyone thinks it means, and is actually a sign that everything's working as it should.

True or not, it was difficult to take any comfort from this explanation.

Moaning Southerners, eh? I'm in Lerwick and the Shetland Bus stopped running in 1945.

Leftie - 11 Jul 2019 09:26:27 (#10 of 13)

There was a bus?!

HerrWalrus - 11 Jul 2019 09:28:02 (#11 of 13)

Yes, but by the sounds of it, Sinnerboy missed it.

Leftie -

There was a bus?!

A small joke, it was a system used by Norwegian refugees, to ferry others out of Norway, to the Shetlands. They also dropped SOE personnel in, to spy on the Nazis and do a spot of sabotage.

Yes, that's a bit more serious.
