Up here on the Wirral no major problems. Power went down in large parts for about 20 minutes but snow restored.

The noise of house alarms is deafening as people are only just getting home to reset them.

Admin please change wording in title to parts.

Stellata - 09 Aug 2019 18:07:07 (#3 of 323)

Good to know, thanks.

Taxi it is

Cut backs in margin since the days of the CEGB...

CaptainBlack - 09 Aug 2019 18:24:41 (#5 of 323)

it's all part of the new 1973 Experience program.

Ipswich hospital has lost power and their back-up generator has failed, according to the radio.

helbel - 09 Aug 2019 18:26:55 (#7 of 323)

I’m stuck on a train at Finsbury Park. Seems like nothing moving on the rail network.

So lightening strike or hacking by a foreign power?

Stellata - 09 Aug 2019 18:27:50 (#8 of 323)

I was wondering about hacking. Isn’t that what happens in Years and Years?

Verdigris - 09 Aug 2019 18:28:24 (#9 of 323)

I think it is rather telling that our new Chancellor chose a National Grid control centre to hold a presser to say that Brexit won't totally fuck the economy and everybody's lives, this very morning.

Stellata - 09 Aug 2019 18:29:40 (#10 of 323)

Did he? Bloody hell

helbel - 09 Aug 2019 18:29:53 (#11 of 323)

The torrents at KGX were biblical as I went through. Never seen the roof leak like that before.

Bugger. I hope Slough General Hospital is ok!

#7

Hope you have plenty of things to hand to pass the time.

No reports on causes yet.

Truro went down about 5pm for half an hour or so.

I have a book, a kindle and a phone. And emergency snacks. No water sadly.

yumyum - 09 Aug 2019 18:36:09 (#16 of 323)

Have a bracket too (helbel). It’s a time of need

Tomnoddy - 09 Aug 2019 18:36:31 (#17 of 323)

A bucket may be more useful.

YorenInTheNorth - 09 Aug 2019 18:40:23 (#18 of 323)

#15

Not too bad. Good.

HerrWalrus - 09 Aug 2019 18:42:01 (#19 of 323)

Retired poster Eddie Willers used to warn us about this type of thing. All down to Labour's lack of forward planning apparently.

machiavelli - 09 Aug 2019 18:43:10 (#20 of 323)

If it's storm-related, there's one getting close to me.
