Cut backs in margin since the days of the CEGB...

CaptainBlack - 09 Aug 2019 18:24:41 (#5 of 329)

it's all part of the new 1973 Experience program.

Ipswich hospital has lost power and their back-up generator has failed, according to the radio.

I’m stuck on a train at Finsbury Park. Seems like nothing moving on the rail network.

So lightening strike or hacking by a foreign power?

Stellata - 09 Aug 2019 18:27:50 (#8 of 329)

I was wondering about hacking. Isn’t that what happens in Years and Years?

Verdigris - 09 Aug 2019 18:28:24 (#9 of 329)

I think it is rather telling that our new Chancellor chose a National Grid control centre to hold a presser to say that Brexit won't totally fuck the economy and everybody's lives, this very morning.

Stellata - 09 Aug 2019 18:29:40 (#10 of 329)

Did he? Bloody hell

helbel - 09 Aug 2019 18:29:53 (#11 of 329)

The torrents at KGX were biblical as I went through. Never seen the roof leak like that before.

Bugger. I hope Slough General Hospital is ok!

#7

Hope you have plenty of things to hand to pass the time.

No reports on causes yet.

I have a book, a kindle and a phone. And emergency snacks. No water sadly.

yumyum - 09 Aug 2019 18:36:09 (#16 of 329)

Have a bracket too (helbel). It’s a time of need

Tomnoddy - 09 Aug 2019 18:36:31 (#17 of 329)

A bucket may be more useful.

Not too bad. Good.

HerrWalrus - 09 Aug 2019 18:42:01 (#19 of 329)

Retired poster Eddie Willers used to warn us about this type of thing. All down to Labour's lack of forward planning apparently.

machiavelli - 09 Aug 2019 18:43:10 (#20 of 329)

If it's storm-related, there's one getting close to me.

54321wibble - 09 Aug 2019 18:44:35 (#21 of 329)

Traffic lights out over much of Bradford due to National Grid problem.

Apparently driving round Bradford today is every man for himself - like GTA. Not sure if that's anything to do with the traffic lights being out though.

YorenInTheNorth - 09 Aug 2019 18:56:54 (#22 of 329)

People have been driving round here like idiots since the power came back on.
