How the hell was this raving psychopath allowed to roam the streets at liberty? All lives are precious we all know that but you can't help but be more affected when the seemingly adorable only child of loving parents is slain in front of them during a stroll in the park. The perpetrator wasn't even charged just immediately sectioned presumably at Her Majesty's Pleasure.

How the hell was this raving psychopath allowed to roam the streets at liberty?

Seems a bit harsh, she was only seven.

The very guiltiest of ha’s

DonkeyOT - 26 Mar 2020 11:54:56 (#3 of 26)

Were the above posts meant to be amusing?

cozzer - 26 Mar 2020 11:57:31 (#4 of 26)

Was the thread header meant to be a serious attempt to address the issue?

solomongursky - 26 Mar 2020 11:59:24 (#5 of 26)

The perpetrator wasn't even charged

Assessed and admitted to hospital. No point in charges if she's suffering from a mental illness.

DonkeyOT - 26 Mar 2020 12:03:10 (#6 of 26)

So why was she at liberty in the first place, I find it hard to believe her mental problems hadn't attracted attention previously?

solomongursky - 26 Mar 2020 12:03:51 (#7 of 26)

Your diagnosis skills are impressive.

Sarky twat.

In greater manchester there are usually over 100 people waiting for an emergency acute psych bed.

Manchester CPS has taken people to court when their suicidal episodes have closed major roads.

Calling her a raving psychopath is unhelpful, she is a vulnerable and ill woman.

mental illness is far too complicated to allow simple assessment of who should be "locked up." in particular, it is variable; non-dangerous today, dangerous tomorrow. sometimes the trigger for change is as simple as a decision, by someone not all there, to stop taking medication.

The assistant chief constable Russ Jackson said this week: “I want to stress that this is not an end to the criminal investigation; we will consider the evidence and consult with the Crown Prosecution Service and if appropriate we will be seeking criminal charges.”

NYPD officer shot herself in a Manhattan police station a few days ago.

I should imagine for anyone with a horrible feeling of existential dread or suffering from paranoid delusions now is not a good time.

Parks are such unsafe places.

Yesterday a couple of guys asked me for money then followed me and I realised there was no one else around in the park and it was dusk. Normally there would be. I headed straight to the entrance.

DonkeyOT - 28 Mar 2020 09:29:18 (#14 of 26)

That's the worry with 'lockdown', it's a thieves and mugger's field day.

RosyLovelady - 28 Mar 2020 10:14:27 (#15 of 26)

Siren voices in the wartime blackout,

phantlers - 28 Mar 2020 10:26:17 (#16 of 26)

The opening posts here are revealing of pitifully poor judgement in my worthless opinion.

cozzer - 28 Mar 2020 10:33:22 (#17 of 26)

Well, I think the seemingly adorable only child of loving parents is slain in front of them during a stroll in the park. The perpetrator wasn't even charged just immediately sectioned presumably at Her Majesty's Pleasure is revealing of pitifully poor judgement.

Pinkgum - 28 Mar 2020 10:41:10 (#18 of 26)

Whose poor judgement?

What do you want cozzer? An acutely ill woman to be thrown in jail? Endangering herself, staff and other prisoners?

They don't section people for nothing you know. Are you worried she is having too much fun weaving baskets?

If/when she is well enough to be arrested and questioned I'm sure it will be done.

phantlers - 28 Mar 2020 10:54:49 (#19 of 26)

#17

Perhaps you might have said that in the first place but I would hazard a guess that you are not a parent.

cozzer - 28 Mar 2020 10:56:04 (#20 of 26)

What? I didn't start this thread.
