Huge hit for the local economy. No days through on the train taking in three or four shows.

At least there'll be the unusual opportunity of going through to Edinburgh (if lockdown has eased by then) and actually hearing local accents in August...

Another of my Dad's hobbies BANNED by the Tories! He'd already booked his apartment (same place every year) but that's easily cancelled.

Same challenge as everyone else - make your own entertainment

This year, virtually everyone will be Beyond the Fringe.

I would guess that - especially if lockdown continues - a whole load of people who would normally be doing Festival or Fringe shows are going to stream solo shows online and have Patreon (etc) accounts for donations. Hopefully PaMancurse can get his fix that way.

Easier for them than for, e.g., Wimbledon.

We're pencilling in a Video Call Great British Beer Festival Hat Day with the friends we normally GBBF with. I'm not sure how many ciders I'll manage to get in stock but I'll be doing my best.

I dunno, Fed v Nads at Wii tennis might just work.

JennyRad - 02 Apr 2020 11:44:24 (#7 of 8)

MrRad thought the football league season should finish using, what's it called, Football Manager or something?

I would certainly watch the pros playing Wii Tennis or equivalent, and I don't like tennis at all.

Depending on the level of lockdown-easing by August, I expect there might be the odd Fringe event that takes place in mufti.
