Giant roundabout to be built under the Isle of Man.

Amazing though, while The West rants and jumps up and down in a pedantic frenzy against 'you-know-who' they carry on development, to this effect.

Never mind; THIS IT'S A WORLD-BEATING CIVILIZATION, isn't it just?

DesEsseintes - 21 Feb 2021 20:10:44 (#62 of 85)

Bring it on. Though I dunno Whitehaven or somewhere like that looks a bit closer than Heysham or Liverpool on the map.

CarlosFandango - 21 Feb 2021 20:12:11 (#63 of 85)

Tau,

MagLevs have been in developement for well over a century.

They look cool, but in reality make no sense.

All vanity; no practical advantge over steel wheel on steel rail, for almost all journey types.

Colossal waste of money.

TauCeti - 21 Feb 2021 20:13:10 (#64 of 85)

Such cleverness deserves a marvellous suggestion: use the dug out material to build an embankment across the Irish sea, from NI to England, then build a motorway and airport on it. Once the Irish sea is cut in half then the UK will be able to annex the northern portion of it.

CarlosFandango - 21 Feb 2021 20:14:15 (#65 of 85)

Like it.

TauCeti - 21 Feb 2021 20:20:25 (#66 of 85)

EH! e te pareva!... :O)

Johnson showing first signs of GPI? He has a bit of a record of putting it about being unfaithful.

carterbrandon - 21 Feb 2021 21:04:48 (#68 of 85)

What the fuck is GPI? I shouldn't have to Google, and when I do, find the top results are 'Global Payment Initiative', 'Genuine Process Indicator' and even Urbandictionary (which I would have thought would be on to any scurrilous meaning) only has 'Gracias Por Invitar'.

Tomnoddy - 21 Feb 2021 21:06:50 (#69 of 85)

General Paralysis of the Insane. Not seen much now, I suppose, but before antibiotics it was a big thing. Terminal stage of syphilis, characterised by grandiosity.

solomongursky - 21 Feb 2021 21:08:03 (#70 of 85)

Like him off The Untouchables.

Snarlygog - 21 Feb 2021 21:12:56 (#71 of 85)

He would be having signs of skin legions and canker if he had the siph in a third stage.

Now booze brain with added Coke on the other hand....

Tomnoddy - 21 Feb 2021 21:15:46 (#72 of 85)

Not necessarily, I think. He is losing hair by the handful, though.

Tomnoddy - 21 Feb 2021 21:16:32 (#73 of 85)

But I'm deffo not elbow-bumping him.

carterbrandon - 21 Feb 2021 21:17:59 (#74 of 85)

How does a PM get coke past their bodyguards? Are there security-vetted dealers?

solomongursky - 21 Feb 2021 21:18:34 (#75 of 85)

Neurosyphilis has many manifestations along the central and peripheral nervous system but Capone’s case was notable for making him certifiably insane. He often failed to follow the guards’ orders even at the penalty of severe punishment, less out of defiance than out of an inability to intellectually process them.

There you go.

Tomnoddy - 21 Feb 2021 21:20:27 (#76 of 85)

I rest my case.

Friedrich Nietzsche's mental illness--general paralysis of the insane vs. frontotemporal dementia

Results: It is unclear that Nietzsche ever had syphilis. He lacked progressive motor and other neurological features of a progressive syphilitic central nervous system (CNS) infection and lived at least 12 years following the onset of his CNS signs, which would be extremely rare for patients with untreated GPI. Finally, his flourish of productivity in 1888 would be quite uncharacteristic of GPI, but in keeping with reports of burgeoning creativity at some point in the progression of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

harryhaller - 21 Feb 2021 21:23:13 (#78 of 85)

FTD?

That's why some politicians in Germany were pushing it (jobs for mates) - thankfully China took it. I've actually been on it - hotel was at Pu Dong had some time to spare.

It's the simple solution to a complex problem delusion.

Unfortunately the clown has stumbled across a possible success - the gamble to concentrate solely on first jabs first, and forget about 2nd jab, or folk abroad. He's going to be more emboldened on future seemingly quick, easy solutions (even if expensive). It's become his nature.
