Night after night of violence in towns and cities...

But they’re in the northeast of Ireland, so though they dwarf the skirmishes on this island, few over here have noticed and fewer much care.

100 years after partition, isn’t it time the UK fessed up and said ‘sorry lol, we don’t give a fk’ ?

Have noticed and do care. Is very scary.

Irish Nationalist are like extreme Brexiters.

My heart is with the Unionists.

kvelertak - 05 Apr 2021 16:31:28 (#6 of 287)

Fightiest posting evah. Armchair generals of the world unite!

Gotout - 05 Apr 2021 16:33:53 (#7 of 287)

We're getting into marching season too, that won't help.

HerrWalrus - 05 Apr 2021 16:42:22 (#8 of 287)

Sleepy Joe won't like this. Time for US peacekeepers to step in?

bailliegillies - 05 Apr 2021 16:45:47 (#9 of 287)

When the US enters Peace exits in a hurry.

Irish Nationalist are like extreme Brexiters.

maybe so, maybe no

but

My heart is with the Unionists.

Who actually are extreme Brexiters, which is one of the reasons their lackeys are throwing bricks at cops. Though it's suggested that that's more at the behest of the east Antrim drug importers and distributors who are pissed off at the increased seaport checks under the current deal, which is understandable, but doesn't endear them to me.

thisonehasalittlehat - 05 Apr 2021 18:21:19 (#11 of 287)

Where as the nationalists generally opposed brexit of course.

GreenFuture - 05 Apr 2021 18:22:53 (#12 of 287)

My heart is with the Unionists.

We can all have our private sympathies, but the GFA did a great deal to make them moot.

The English political/media elite has put all that at great risk thanks to their fuckwittery on Brexit.

Unionists surely know how little most over here care, so what exactly are they loyal to?

Could it be that their prime motivation is a hatred of all things ‘Irish’ despite living in Ireland ?

Well yes, it could.

TheValkyrie - 05 Apr 2021 18:31:19 (#13 of 287)

Loyalists may be consumed with hatred but I imagine most Unionists are not.

solomongursky - 05 Apr 2021 18:34:40 (#14 of 287)

Throwing molotovs at police vans is a stag night in NI.

GreenFuture - 05 Apr 2021 18:34:44 (#15 of 287)

Yeah, sorry I conflated the terms there. The DUP command a much higher proportion of the general Protestant vote these days than the traditional unionist party though.

TigerPaws - 05 Apr 2021 18:53:31 (#16 of 287)

Sounds like a bunch of thugs, rather than any community based protest.

Sad they are still referring to 'loyalist' areas when a younger generation mostly prefer peace and moving forward.

InternationalVicar - 05 Apr 2021 19:03:07 (#17 of 287)

The chilly weather should postpone it all a bit.

Snarlygog - 05 Apr 2021 21:11:46 (#18 of 287)

Aparantly 12 yos were seen having a riot too, young TP.Perhaps people don't want Tory foisted upon themselves.

Let the masses have their drugs, keep them quiet.
