10 points on the licence.

TigerPaws - 07 Jun 2021 18:42:36 (#2 of 500)

There's nothing about speed limits.

There's nothing about fines for pavement riding, breaking speed limits, being drunk, etc.

bossab2 - 07 Jun 2021 18:51:57 (#3 of 500)

I've had a number of the fuckers already try and throw themselves in front of my car.

No sign of the police enforcing rules of the road either.

solomongursky - 07 Jun 2021 18:53:43 (#4 of 500)

Get yourself a dashcam, if it happens again I'll pay for it.

bossab2 - 07 Jun 2021 18:55:59 (#5 of 500)

Obligatory cycle proficiency training for them (and the twats in lycra who never use hand signals)

Tenesmus - 07 Jun 2021 18:56:38 (#6 of 500)

RED LIGHTS. WHAT ABOUT RED LIGHTS?

TigerPaws - 07 Jun 2021 19:05:56 (#7 of 500)

Hand signalling means taking a hand off the scooter which can't be controlled with pedals like a bike. They are downright dangerous putting lives at risks.

They should be banned until regulations are in place, and the police have got their fat asses onto some bikes.

spartak - 07 Jun 2021 19:10:44 (#8 of 500)

They are a serious danger here to themselves and to pedestrians. They can go pretty fast. I’ve been knocked over a couple of times already.

TigerPaws - 07 Jun 2021 19:20:22 (#9 of 500)

I called one a F D really loudly.

I Pay Council Tax for highway planning and pedestrian safety.

CarlosFandango - 07 Jun 2021 19:21:46 (#10 of 500)

Fabulous Dahlia?

CarlosFandango - 07 Jun 2021 19:23:40 (#11 of 500)

The scooters I've seen have indicators. Not sure about brake lights. No hand signals necessary, or indeed, safe.

Perhaps a blanket 20mph speed-limit for all vehicles in urban areas would help.

HouseOfLametta - 07 Jun 2021 19:24:33 (#12 of 500)

The thing I can't understand is, surely there is a chance someone you know might see you on it?

guigal - 07 Jun 2021 19:30:41 (#13 of 500)

e-scooterists seem to prefer riding down the middle of the road but be prepared to overtaken by one barrelling down the cycle path at 50mph, or coming at you head-on.

solomongursky - 07 Jun 2021 19:36:25 (#14 of 500)

One near me was doing 180mph dressed as a nazi. The police do nothing.

NoobRomeo - 07 Jun 2021 19:36:40 (#15 of 500)

There are 7 e-scooters for every man, woman, and child in Brighton and no-one has died. Yet.

bossab2 - 07 Jun 2021 19:39:09 (#16 of 500)

Wait till the scooterists start running into each other...

guigal - 07 Jun 2021 19:42:41 (#17 of 500)

Speeds on e-scooters are capped at 15.5mph however they can be modified to go as fast as 70mph.

And they're ideal for carefree drunks.

Snarlygog - 07 Jun 2021 19:44:18 (#18 of 500)

What did you you bunch of squares did for kicks BTW!

Pinkgum - 07 Jun 2021 19:45:04 (#19 of 500)

I was pleased to find out that you can hear them coming on the not smooth paths where me and pifco do most of our walking.

bossab2 - 07 Jun 2021 19:45:50 (#20 of 500)

15.5 + 15.5 mph head on = 31mph into a wall

An unshielded body at 30mph probably comes off rather badly.
