I thought it was JTT!

Tenesmus - 08 Jun 2021 11:55:44 (#2 of 26)

-10 points

WibbleAgain - 08 Jun 2021 11:55:58 (#3 of 26)

I thought it was the Guardian site, which I couldn't access after reading one article this morning . It's still out.

6to24characters - 08 Jun 2021 11:56:09 (#4 of 26)

The Revenge of the Hamsters!

AlanII - 08 Jun 2021 11:58:13 (#5 of 26)

Is it just in the UK? I can access every site mentioned in that article here at the moment. Had a few problems with JtT earlier, but that's fine now.

AdonisBlue - 08 Jun 2021 11:58:59 (#6 of 26)

I can access the guardian site from the UK, that's weird.

cozzer - 08 Jun 2021 12:00:52 (#7 of 26)

It's very patchy, it's going up and down.

Stellata - 08 Jun 2021 12:01:11 (#8 of 26)

Apparently it's global.

sympforthedevil - 08 Jun 2021 12:03:42 (#10 of 26)

Good old 'The Cloud'. This is why I don't use it. I have all my files stuffed in a matress.

FleurDuMal - 08 Jun 2021 12:06:02 (#11 of 26)

Turnitin is down.

Verdigris - 08 Jun 2021 12:07:38 (#12 of 26)

There was an undersea "avalanche" that took out a lot of the interweb in Africa, recently. Perhaps another major link has been buggered? (although, in theory, everything is just supposed to re-route).

xDiggy - 08 Jun 2021 12:07:44 (#13 of 26)

My work stuff is still working. Worst internet outage evah.

ZimAgain - 08 Jun 2021 12:09:12 (#14 of 26)

It must be real, it's the top story in the Graun just now. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/jun/08

Not sure it's a routing problem Verdi. According to the beeb, as Stell linked, it's a major cloud computing service that is out of action. Seems like lots of big websites rely on it for their function.

Verdigris - 08 Jun 2021 12:15:18 (#16 of 26)

hDoneelp

Not a word you come across every day.

AdonisBlue - 08 Jun 2021 12:24:36 (#17 of 26)

Wills work internet to collapse.

xDiggy - 08 Jun 2021 12:24:44 (#18 of 26)

Seems like lots of big websites rely on it for their function.

Fastly is a Content Delivery Network. It's basically a big globally distributed server network with copies of websites on it, so that it doesn't all have to come from a basement in Farringdon.

StakludKar - 08 Jun 2021 12:27:56 (#19 of 26)

Will this affect Bitcoin though

bossab2 - 08 Jun 2021 13:28:02 (#20 of 26)

JTT being down I notice.

All those boring global media companies - nah.
