Need a good war.

AdonisBlue - 17 Jul 2021 20:32:10 (#3 of 58)

Bring back the birch, stocks and death sentence for stealing turnips

Needle phobia is a very real thing where just the image of liquid being squirted out of a syringe can be enough to induce panic or even fainting in sufferers.

So, no, not snowflakes; just you mouthing off about something you know fuck all about. Again. Cunt.

Snarlygog - 18 Jul 2021 08:14:43 (#7 of 58)

I've been telling anyone, how small the needle is and that you don't notice the Jab.

RosyLovelady - 18 Jul 2021 08:18:00 (#8 of 58)

It's true.

Many of us don't have any interesting side-effects afterwards either, but that's a different matter.

Tadagee - 18 Jul 2021 08:20:25 (#9 of 58)

Once again bossab sounding like the letters page of the Daily Express.

Dementor - 18 Jul 2021 08:31:27 (#10 of 58)

Needle phobia is a very real thing …

Yer big Wuss!

ReverendBlueJeans - 19 Jul 2021 22:21:00 (#11 of 58)

I've given blood 58 times. I have never, not even once, watched the nurse stabbing my arm nor watched as the blood is pumped out.

And I nearly pass out every time they do the finger test.

bossab2 - 19 Jul 2021 22:22:11 (#12 of 58)

Yeh. I dont watch blood being extracted.

Shadrack22 - 19 Jul 2021 22:28:26 (#13 of 58)

You get worse than that on Casualty.

ReverendBlueJeans - 19 Jul 2021 22:39:29 (#14 of 58)

The dialogue is pretty grim, to be honest.

I shared a house with a junior doctor when I was a young graduate. He liked to watch videos of Casualty over breakfast and would fast forward to the emergency tracheotomy scenes.

You’re putting me off my cornflakes, dude!

There was another junior doctor in the house. When Cardiac Arrest was on it echoed the stories she used to tell me.

Casualty (the TV show) at any time is bad enough for many reasons.

Casualty (the real thing) is not great either.

Verdigris - 19 Jul 2021 22:00:38 (#17 of 58)

A doctor friend of mine says Cardiac Arrest is the most realistic of the medical soaps.

Shadrack22 - 19 Jul 2021 23:04:34 (#18 of 58)

Bodies is the one to watch breakfast. Jed Mercurio’s finest. Not for the faint-hearted though.

breakfast - 19 Jul 2021 23:09:13 (#19 of 58)

I could be too faint hearted to watch Bodies but I might at least check it out at some point.

Jacob_Richter - 19 Jul 2021 23:25:13 (#20 of 58)

Needle phobia is a very real thing

Yes, when I took my daughter for her covid vac she had a major panic attack. The staff were great and all geared up to supporting those who need it.
