Thread to share your plans now we know it's over.

What a long, strange trip it's been.

Maybe I'll just race my car up and down the beach while it's got gasoline, like they did in On The Beach.

The Robots' plans have been completely successful, although we don't know yet the full extent of Target Earth:

<review 2X speed> It's been coming on for some time now. Like frogs for dinner, we've been in a slowly heating pot. Now we're done.

Barry McQuire and the "Eve of Destruction" seems like such a long time ago:

Ride the snake, mofo!

When the music's over, turn out the lights.

God promised Noah with a rainbow He'd never destroy the Earth again with water. No.

This time, it'll be fire:

This is the time for you to repent your sins and ask your Father, Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ, Ex's and/or NtT posters for forgiveness....

instead of wasting time on youtube.

Bleu11 - 25 Jun 2013 00:45:28 (#9 of 2272)

Did I kill the thread?

MestangloMan - 25 Jun 2013 01:10:23 (#10 of 2272)

Cousin, don't jump just yet. Slow it down a bit.

And Happy Toozday, all ye wild and woolly deez.

Valens - 25 Jun 2013 01:18:20 (#11 of 2272)

Maybe I'll just sit here and criticize Americans.

'On the Beach' is a classic btw.

I'm still here!

A giant thunderstorm came up, and I had to disconnect everything. It was "The End".

But really. This is the End, doncha think?

We've laid around and played around this old town too long. Summer's almost gone, and Winter's comin on.

We had a big war, and made nuclear weapons enough to fry everything.

The Bosses put the Workers in their place, and a Wall came down, but now it's the same old same old.

Everybody is spying on me, and wants a piece of my wallet. And there's nothing in it.

The Sun---that "Lucky Old Sun"---keeps rollin round Heaven all day, spewing out huge Tongues of Fire at us, and nobody really knows what it's doin.

The Game is rigged, and nobody thinks about it until somebody blows the whistle, then we try to forget about it as fast as we can.

This is the Information Age.

We are all Information.

In one big information "Metropolis":

Whoops. I created a duplicate post there.

"How can I be in two places at once, when I'm not anywhere at all?" -Firesign Theatre

Maybe the good news is we're all bilocating in another universe next door, like e.e.cummings said, and like Fringe wanted to confirm.

"What goes around, comes around."

It's all comin together.

Or falling apart, in a cosmic game of "Chicken"?

That's when I fell for "The Leader Of The Pack":

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Me and Mum was sitting around the flat, watching telly. We'd just had the telly licence renewed, and Mum's fav was David Frost.

We dint kno how much sympathy we really had for "The Devil":

Is this a prophetic thread, virg, predicting the approaching death of NtT?

mmuskin - 25 Jun 2013 04:47:12 (#17 of 2272)

virgil5 -

If you (as I) really liked The Firesign Theater, be sure and explore Phil Proctor's Planet Proctor

virgil5 - 25 Jun 2013 06:19:51 (#18 of 2272)

the approaching death of NtT

Oh no, no, no. Nothing of the sort. I've just noticed a certain uptick recently in a kind of apocalyptic 'nostalgia' since the Snowden revelations, that I thought was worth exploring.

Everything ends. Everything changes.

One door closes and another opens.

I feel we're in a cusp moment--a gateway between paradigms--for better or worse.

A time to look back a bit, and see if "Somebody's Watching Me":

This is the end, now
