Joseph Biden for President in 2020?

No, she was not the best candidate. Hell, I was the best candidate, but I had issues. Plus Hillary Clinton ran a dreadful campaign. Oh My!!

We're divided, and angry, and bitter. We Must Unite. We're the USA, For God's Sakes.

77 in 2020. Pipedream, Reality, Taking too many drugs?

Press TV with comments.

Biden was from my home area. Otherwise, zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Not to mention he's one of the aged who may be going to assisted living soon.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 01:12:29 (#2 of 1527)

I'm looking into his bio a bit, meadow. The death of his first wife in 72, then his son in 2015. Plus he did serve 8 years as Veep and is eligible to run for Big Tent.

But, yes, he's probably seen as past his prime. And then he can be fodder for late night telly.

When you say home area, you mean Pa?

Geribaldi - 22 May 2017 03:07:14 (#3 of 1527)

Biden's OK. I always thought he would make an excellent game show host.

brooklyn - 22 May 2017 03:45:42 (#4 of 1527)

he'd be a very good spokesman for charity fund drives.

and we may really need our charities soon, more than ever.

It is time for Let's Unite This Darn Country with our host, Joe Biden.

Thank you, thank you. Ok, I want to send a person to the Philippines to meet with Mr. Duterte. Ok, for a great trip Why are we so divided? Cindy.

Because of the Republicans, Joe.

Not bad. Jessica.

Because of the Bastard Republicans, Joe.

Getting closer. Harry.

Because of the Bastard Republicans under Donny J. Trump.

Get that man a passport and let's send him to The Philippines. Ok, for a trip to Bangladesh, Why did Hillary lose?

Because she lacked energy, Mr. Vice President.

Not bad. Pretty interesting. Jessica.

Because Trump, The Russians, and Sanders Screwed her, Mr. Veep.

Damn. That's got some kinkiness to it. Harry.

Because she just wasn't Joe Biden, sir.

Holy Crap. We do have a winner. This young man is heading to Bangladesh. Loving it. Loving it. Loving it.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 13:37:19 (#6 of 1527)

I can unite this nation if you'll have me. Otherwise I have one pretty darned good retirement.

Joey, this is one of my "survey" threads. I'm sure you have other outlets, but I am not seeing it here, old son. Yeah, Hillary was one "heartbeat" away from the Presidency, but primarily in the bedroom, not in your manner.

Carry on, Old Joey.

But I can Unite this Nation. Just Watch, MM.

I don't see it, my man. My studies of the office have suggested that the person never really fits the Design except by looking backwards.

Been there. Done that.

Geribaldi - 22 May 2017 17:17:25 (#7 of 1527)

I remember him telling a black audience that the Republicans "want to put you in chains!"

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 17:20:03 (#8 of 1527)

Plus that candidate Obama was clean and articulate.

He is in the category of pol who does put foot in mouth, Geribaldi. And I like the man, both as a person and a pol on several occasions.

We shall see. He seems to be person number one at this point. Very subject to change. Needless to say I personally would have crawled on glass to vote for him long before I would do so for Hillary Clinton(I voted for him in 08 as Veep, btw).

Much Water under The Bridge.

AmericanWoman - 22 May 2017 17:27:44 (#9 of 1527)

The Plagiarist in Chief.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 17:28:36 (#10 of 1527)

Ah, Neil Kinnock. What a guy.

Where the hell is he when the Woild needs him?

Geribaldi - 22 May 2017 18:20:55 (#11 of 1527)

MM - "Plus that candidate Obama was clean and articulate."

Actually, I think he said Obama was the first black man who was clean and articulate. The quote might have ended his career if he was a Republican.

He seems like a nice guy but kind of dumb. He reminds me of one of those men in the corporate world who has been around forever but doesn't know anything and has only kept his job due to cronyism.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 18:32:18 (#12 of 1527)

Actually, I think he said Obama was the first black man who was clean and articulate. The quote might have ended his career if he was a Republican.

I may have to go back and check that one out. Btw, I remember that period fairly well, plus his jokes about Indian immigrants. One could call him Trump lite in a few ways. I think Politico has an article saying just that, that he knows all the working man language. Plus he said that his home state, Delaware, had Slave heritage, which I think was code for "I understand the White working classes." I believe that was how it was interpreted at the time.

Geri, in fairness, in the age of Donald Trump there will be a lot of shaking up of the order. One can definitely see it when one looks at the Ds as Opposition to Trumpism. There is the old guard vs. the young and hungry, although it's bizarre that Maxine Waters, age 78, and as foot in mouth disease worthy as anyone, seems to be a hit with younger folks. Hey, so long as violence can be kept to a minimum.

Let it all hang out.

I'm positive Trump got all that New York Street Jive business from the Russians. We all know they know how to do Wild And Crazy Guys stuff very well. Hey, turn my mike back on. I'm just getting started.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 19:02:45 (#13 of 1527)

A Politico article that is short, sweet, with possibly some wishful thinking about making hay out of Trump's negatives. It admits it's early. It brings in Biden, Franken, even Presidential candidate of yore and now California governor Jerry Brown as possible 2020 hopefuls.

One person not discussed:

Hillary Clinton. The silence is deafening.

Plus, Geri, I did go back and look at the quote in a youtube segment called "Racist or simply Retarded"?

I mean, yes, the internet can be ugly. JtT is a church picnic compared to some places. Needless to say it was very clumsy at the least, terribly racist at the other extreme. Obama at the time called it "historically inaccurate." I think that was still the primary period.

Then Biden went on to serve as his Veep for two full terms: January 2009 to January 2017.

Only in America?

I really can't say.

MestangloMan - 22 May 2017 19:26:54 (#14 of 1527)

The other thing is that both Trump and Biden can say things that become interpreted as strange or racial or what have you. What's amazing is that both achieved quite a bit of success as pols. Those gaffes didn't stop their rise into high power. Veep is still plenty effing high, even if seen as a bucket of warm piss by certain Texas politicians.

The question is "Is Joey still hungry for that Big Tent gig? Or is Veep his version of Hillary's Sec of State, the highest level he will achieve in politics"?

We shall see. Very early. He is in the running for now, theoretically. And getting some talking points in, like stabbing Hillary in the back and maybe finishing the job that even Donny couldn't.

Politics ain't beanbag, as they say. Joey probably knows that as well as anyone.

MestangloMan - 30 May 2017 18:31:56 (#15 of 1527)

Joe, how can we win back those American, Middle Class voters? Got any ideas? Hey, how about we invite Meryl Streep, Cher, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, and some other celebs to do a benefit concert for Warren Buffett? That would be Grrrr-ate, man.

Not bad, but we might need to do some real, hard work.

But it will be fun, fun, fun.

I know, What the hell. Give it a go.

MestangloMan - 10 Jun 2017 13:04:57 (#16 of 1527)

She was a lousy Candidate. I would have been better.

And I tell better jokes, ok, they often get salty, even now. But my heart is sweet and kind.

Joey in 2020. Any takers? Hey, it's Saturday. A lot of folks are off work. Think about it, what say!

MestangloMan - 10 Jun 2017 14:33:07 (#17 of 1527)

What in hell is going on here, eh? You scratch my back and I shall scratch yours?

Biden, a D, encourages Romney, an R, to run for Hatch's Senate seat in Utah should Hatch move on into retirement.

Joseph Biden:

In da news :^).

Just above the commercial of the young woman spraying her underarm with deodorant. The internets...

AmericanWoman - 10 Jun 2017 15:15:25 (#18 of 1527)

It's the establishment, it doesn't really have a party.

MestangloMan - 10 Jun 2017 15:21:02 (#19 of 1527)

A great point, AW, but try explaining that over here, that Trump took on the entirety of the R and D hierarchy that counted in 2016 and whacked them all.

Of course, forget explaining that over here. Explain that to the US Congress, which is why this Russian/FBI/CIA b.s., partly stirred up by Mr. Obama, grudgingly at first, imo, will eventually be a tune like Dixie down the road.

But, yes, Biden and Romney obviously are buds. Nothing unhealthy about that, btw.

MestangloMan - 10 Jun 2017 17:18:03 (#20 of 1527)

For those who haven't completely lost their political minds or brains. This isn't coming from your average White, American, Red Stater. It's coming from a Palestinian American who married a Jewish gal and has a kid by her, with all the intrigue that may create, from Chicago, who voted for Trump.

The Real American Extremists, starting with Kathy Griffin. There is only one thing wilder and loonier than hardcore pro-Trumpers as most sane Americans know:

The Anti-Trumpers and their whacky allies.
