"Trickle-down tax cuts don't create jobs"

I know that, you know that, we all know that..

roguestate - 30 Aug 2017 10:26:48 (#2 of 196)

Zombie lies - those lies that never die.

LaLady - 30 Aug 2017 16:12:24 (#3 of 196)

AW will be along soon to dispute the fact that California's economy - with the highest top income tax rates in the nation - is doing exponentially better than any other state in the union.

Damn those "librul" policies...

virgil5 - 30 Aug 2017 16:16:07 (#4 of 196)

New York is doing pretty good too.

especially WITHOUT the UnAmericanWoman :-)

Coincidence? I don't think so.

LaLady - 30 Aug 2017 16:31:49 (#5 of 196)

Ha ha.

anarchy - 30 Aug 2017 16:48:55 (#6 of 196)

She's not about much - wonder why?

AdrianNTierney - 30 Aug 2017 16:51:31 (#7 of 196)

Well, LaLa, perhaps you can then explain why Larry Ellison, who obviously works in CA, lives in Nevada. Right?

LaLady - 30 Aug 2017 17:14:46 (#8 of 196)

I can't imagine. She's usually willing to defend the indefensible. Could Trump be too much even for her?

Geribaldi - 30 Aug 2017 17:18:37 (#9 of 196)

Ebadlun - ""Trickle-down tax cuts don't create jobs"

Which is why countries all around the world cut taxes to spur economic growth?

TRaney - 30 Aug 2017 17:34:19 (#10 of 196)

Yes, there are hardly an taxes anywhere but America

LaLady - 30 Aug 2017 17:36:13 (#11 of 196)

No, Geri. Trickle-down tax cuts don't create jobs. It's only been proven over and over and over and over....

TRaney - 30 Aug 2017 17:36:58 (#12 of 196)

Oh shit, just realised this is in the mad folder

anarchy - 30 Aug 2017 17:51:28 (#13 of 196)

Sorry TRany.

Goes with the territory.

meadowlark - 30 Aug 2017 21:48:23 (#14 of 196)

Do we have to go thru this trickle down horseshoe again?

Geribaldi - 30 Aug 2017 22:13:38 (#15 of 196)

LALA - "No, Geri. Trickle-down tax cuts don't create jobs. It's only been proven over and over and over and over...."

Actually, it hasn't. But in any event, tax cuts do lead to econmic growth but details are important. If you recall, Obama and the Dems fought hard to make sure that the Bush tax cuts remained in place for most tax payers so as not to hurt the economy.

LaLady - 30 Aug 2017 23:04:33 (#16 of 196)

Fought hard to keep the Bush tax cuts? I don't think so.

And yes - tax cuts do lead to economic growth...for the ones who get the cuts. And that growth goes right into their pockets or under the mattress. Not into the wider economy.

Yes, details are important.

Garden - 30 Aug 2017 23:27:55 (#17 of 196)

Cuts to federal taxes have only resulted in economic growth once, when Kennedy did it, and only because he was cutting from punishingly high rates.

Yet the right continues to fantasize that tax cuts spur growth. Reagan tax cuts didn't - they certainly didn't make up for the upturn in federal spending that Reagan foisted on us.

AdrianNTierney - 31 Aug 2017 02:06:46 (#18 of 196)

they certainly didn't make up for the upturn in federal spending that Reagan foisted on us.

Is that what's called a "forgettery"?

Reagan proposed tax cuts and also proposed cutting Federal expenditures. And since Garden conveniently "forgets", the Congress, dominated by Democrats, did cut taxes. And INCREASED Federal spending, contrary to their agreements.

HorseEasyEast - 31 Aug 2017 02:22:19 (#19 of 196)

Chinese laundry eh? At least somebody knows how to catch that trickle down.

Garden - 31 Aug 2017 04:17:07 (#20 of 196)

Reagan was wholly responsible for the increases in federal spending under his administration, Adrian. I don't expect you to understand that, but it's as true as the nose on your face.
