no

fogger - 03 Mar 2018 22:24:50 (#2 of 133)

I'm more concerned by Shania Twain.

levelgaze - 03 Mar 2018 23:07:12 (#3 of 133)

I'm more concerned about Jude Law. And I quite like him.

Garden - 03 Mar 2018 23:25:26 (#4 of 133)

Is Jude Law coming here? When?

WibbleAgain - 03 Mar 2018 23:36:58 (#5 of 133)

I'm concerned about the general spread of fundamentalism, that more and more people seem to want a return to the Old Testament approach, that now we even have fundamental Buddhism and Hinduism, ffs.

Bonusy - 03 Mar 2018 23:56:05 (#6 of 133)

Fundamentalists, putting the fun into mental since 4000BC

otraynor - 03 Mar 2018 23:57:44 (#7 of 133)

Not really, no. Wibble has a good point though.

Peacock - 04 Mar 2018 00:07:41 (#8 of 133)

#5 is classic denial.

sharia is firmly established in the West and runs parallel to the laws of the land. It’s outrageous. Happening in the UK, here’s a taster: http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/sharia-law-uk-courts-muslim-women-rights-few-compared-islamic-countries-religious-rulings-quran-a8064796.html

WibbleAgain - 04 Mar 2018 00:15:20 (#9 of 133)

Denial? Never mind classic?

upgoerfive - 04 Mar 2018 00:15:26 (#10 of 133)

#8:

I take it you're also concerned by the Beth Din in the UK then?

Geribaldi - 04 Mar 2018 01:52:54 (#11 of 133)

I see this:

And I wonder why it's tolerated.

upgoerfive - 04 Mar 2018 02:06:56 (#12 of 133)

Hey, you're from the country that has all the GOD stuff embedded by law into the currency, Pledge of Allegiance, etc. And a whole bunch of Dominionist Evangelicals bending the ear of Government.

How is it in that glass house?

AdrianNTierney - 04 Mar 2018 02:08:20 (#13 of 133)

upgo - you've been sitting on The Graun again, eh?

Do its prejudices 'travel' better that way?

machiavelli - 04 Mar 2018 02:14:32 (#14 of 133)

The US has a separation of church and state that the UK doesn't. As Roy Moore found out years ago.

upgoerfive - 04 Mar 2018 02:32:54 (#15 of 133)

I get it.

Your God Good, Their God Bad.

How is it in that glass house?

the new york legislature will take up the issue monday. the bill would simply revoke all prior law, and substitute sharia law as interpreted by the state's leading cleric, ayatolla cumaninny. the prospects for passage are good, and governor yusef cuomo has promised to sign the bill into law.

Peacock - 04 Mar 2018 04:38:13 (#17 of 133)

I take it you're also concerned by the Beth Din in the UK then?

Yes.

Garden - 04 Mar 2018 04:42:53 (#18 of 133)

Anyone have anything to say about raising the age of marriage in Kentucky from 13?

downbuzz - 04 Mar 2018 04:46:40 (#19 of 133)

I'm for it. 13 is too young. I think it should be raised to 21. They do make good fried chicken though.

downbuzz - 04 Mar 2018 04:48:26 (#20 of 133)

I realise that most readers here do not eat KFC and those that do don't like the chips.
