It sounds like Flying Ant day, but bigger

Oh I do like the zing of cicadas, of an evening. Time for a mint julep.

Geribaldi - 06 May 2021 19:41:17 (#3 of 40)

Cicadas are nothing.

I get coyotes (my dog loves chasing them), bobcats and even occasional mountain lions (they eat dogs).

barkis - 06 May 2021 19:49:18 (#4 of 40)

I've seen squirrels.

mingmong - 06 May 2021 19:51:51 (#5 of 40)

bobcats are cool as fuck.

We can't we have stuff like that

Arjuna - 06 May 2021 19:53:05 (#6 of 40)

we killed them all

mingmong - 06 May 2021 19:58:27 (#7 of 40)

oh yeah.

Can we have some more?

AdonisBlue - 06 May 2021 20:02:02 (#8 of 40)

We have Manx cats instead.

pranzingfrogg - 07 May 2021 18:22:14 (#9 of 40)

We’ve still got the Beasts. Bodmin, for instance:

solomongursky - 07 May 2021 18:45:00 (#10 of 40)

We had giant sloths if you go back far enough. A giant sloth could kill a sabre-toothed tiger probably.

AdrianNTierney - 07 May 2021 20:01:31 (#11 of 40)

The Washington Post has proclaimed that the emerging cicada brood will be delayed locally due to cooler weather.

As an additional assist, the Post's put up cooking and eating instructions for the cicadas.

bossab2 - 07 May 2021 20:10:24 (#12 of 40)

First: Catch 100 cicadas...

pranzingfrogg - 07 May 2021 21:37:36 (#13 of 40)

Cicada hunting must be a fabulous spectacle. The hunters have had 17 years to prepare.

barkis - 07 May 2021 21:40:31 (#14 of 40)

Training those lizards takes time.

Samsonite - 08 May 2021 09:50:01 (#15 of 40)

DAY of the cicardas? We have months of them ...

RosyLovelady - 08 May 2021 09:51:56 (#16 of 40)

The hedgehog is a mighty beast round here.

Samsonite - 08 May 2021 09:59:03 (#17 of 40)

hedeghogs are cool, we get the (very) occasional echidna .... and a plethora of possums

AdrianNTierney - 08 May 2021 18:33:56 (#18 of 40)

No raccoons?

SinnerBoy - 22 May 2021 03:17:20 (#19 of 40)

Crocodiles are them all.

virgil5 - 22 May 2021 05:17:05 (#20 of 40)
