Which I find increasingly annoying...

Can you elaborate?

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:28:22 (#2 of 55)

You send an email

And then notice a typo.

I want to be able to edit emails after publishing.

Dayraven - 10 Jul 2021 18:30:09 (#3 of 55)

You can recall emails in Outlook, and probably other email clients.

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:31:04 (#4 of 55)

I will look for that.

cozzer - 10 Jul 2021 18:31:25 (#5 of 55)

I've always been disappointed that Microsoft never includes a time machine in their products.

widenation - 10 Jul 2021 18:31:40 (#6 of 55)

Recalling emails makes you look like a twat though.

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:31:49 (#7 of 55)

Teams does it.

Its MS

cozzer - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:12 (#8 of 55)

You can recall emails in Outlook

I've never really understood why, it usually just calls attention to the offending email.

kvelertak - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:14 (#9 of 55)

#2 That's just life. You can set a timer in Outlook to keep things in your Outbox for a few minutes before they're released, or you can attempt to recall a message and replace with an edited one, which works if no-one's opened and read the first attempt.

Tenesmus - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:25 (#10 of 55)

ISTR the recipient could ignore the recall and open the email anyway (in Outlook).

Teams isn't email though.

widenation - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:51 (#11 of 55)

Oh shit I copied everyone in - I'll recall it. Too late - just means I get 2 emails instead of one.

Eligelis - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:55 (#12 of 55)

Teams allow the editing of messages after they are sent.

Otherwise... It is not exactly a new problem with emails.

crabbyoldbat - 10 Jul 2021 18:32:57 (#13 of 55)

I've set up my outbox to delay for 5 minutes, so that I can recall and correct emails (my habit is sending them before finished)

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:33:10 (#14 of 55)

Whats the point of email then ( internally) ?

I might just Teams people in future.

kvelertak - 10 Jul 2021 18:33:57 (#15 of 55)

It predates Teams by decades...

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:34:53 (#16 of 55)

Cant see the point of email...

kvelertak - 10 Jul 2021 18:35:05 (#17 of 55)

It's easier to save email messages outside of the application.

Eligelis - 10 Jul 2021 18:35:27 (#18 of 55)

A discrete package of information that (if necessary) can be filed in a particular folder within your email application, or reasonably easily saved as a pdf and filed just like anything else.

kvelertak - 10 Jul 2021 18:35:44 (#19 of 55)

This.

bossab2 - 10 Jul 2021 18:36:49 (#20 of 55)

Email does have better formatting though.
